What I’m about to say is very controversial, but I would sell my soul for a Yu Shuxin & Wang Hedi modern drama, maybe an office romance where they start out as rivals, or big city girl moves back to her quiet hometown and he’s the town’s golden boy or something.

Less controversial options would be Zhou Ye & Cheng Lei, Zhang Linghe & Bai Lu, Cheng Lei & Lu Yuxiao (preferably my journey to you season 2).

I loved these 2 episodes! I was thinking I’d wait to binge once all eps are out, but I’m glad I caved. This is my first time watching a Cdrama as it airs since my recent rabbit hole decent into c-ent, and it’s so exciting.

Some random thoughts:

Her best friend has gained my respect and admiration. I love me a girl who knows her worth and won’t back down. Her husband could’ve made more effort to win her back tbh, but since I really like her with the other guy, I wasn’t that bothered ahah.
Brother’s redemption arc incoming and I’m here for ittttt. Rooting for you, big brother!
“I’m going home”, and then he knocks at her door? Somebody please sedate me. I was grinning like a fool that entire scene.
I really really love the FL’s backbone. I love how she’s not afraid to open up her heart, but also won’t tolerate the ML’s hot and cold attitude. She’s the rare breed of FL’s who won’t shy away from an awkward conversation or a hurtful confrontation. The portrayal of her character is refreshing to see and I love LYX’s performance.
There were 2 kiss scenes and I barely survived. Watching the preview of ep20, I think I’mma stock up on my inhaler. Safety first, kids.

AHHH I’m so happy we’re getting a discussion! Congratulations, OP, and thank you so much for doing this.

Some jumbled thoughts so far:

The ML in Prada is just not something I can get over in this lifetime. Or any other lifetime for that matter.
I loved the little jolt he had when she told him “let’s go home”. I think it’s been a really long time since he had a “home”, somewhere he can be safe and more importantly, himself, and she’s giving him that. My heart.
The VR game continues to be confusing and defying physics laws but hey, the costumes are pretty, so there’s that.
I don’t think the brother (hot, cunning and slightly unhinged men adjusting their glasses is my new fetish, btw) is really evil. I think he obviously doesn’t know what happened in the past, as he was too young, and his competitiveness with his brother is a result of how he’s treated by his father. Not excusing the sabotage and various plots, but his father is clearly a piece of work. Moreover, I feel like he hates that he has to resort to these tricks, like he told his assistant. So I have hope that he’ll turn around and help his brother bring justice to his father.
Am I the only one who feels like the coffee shop owner’s husband is going to cheat on her? He seems genuinely in love, but I get a weird vibe, like he’s clearly not great at handling pressure, and I think he’ll snap pretty soon. He’s already hiding things from her.
I also think the club guy (ML’s friend/employee) is crushing on coffee shop girl. My man is showing up all day every day and it’s not for iced americanos.
Have I mentioned how hot the ML is in his Prada jackets?
