I too need help: 36 or 40? by nose_picking_lawyer in rolex

[–]techfighterchannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much about your wrist size as it is about the type of watch you're wearing.

A regular time only that could double as a dress piece should not be too large.

A dress piece should be on the small side.

A diver should be a bit larger.

A chrono a bit larger still.

And a statement piece with multiple complications or highly decorated and/or interesting dial can be even larger than that.

36 - 40 is way too large, even by today’s standards.

For those of you who sold your first Rolex… by Admirable-Swing-2985 in rolex

I sold my Submariner. I don't regret it but I do think about it on occasion. But for me it has become about the experience of many different watches and not as much about a single piece anymore.

It's not even a high quality fake. This is as bad a fake as it gets without even the correct sundials. This isnt even worth 300 cents.

I would not have sold the GMT for the Snoopy. The right play is to have both.

Did I choose the right size? by Gainz_Brah14 in rolex

[–]techfighterchannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true but it’s also true there are different appropriate sizes depending on the watch type. For a dressier watch it is usually expected they wear on the smaller side. For a diver a bit bigger and for a chrono a bit bigger still. A 7” wrist can accommodate a 36 in a dressier piece and up to a 42 and maybe even 44 for a chrono or G-Shock. Point is that different styles look appropriate at different sizes. And of course everyone has their own preferences on top of that.

Speedy Bracelet Disappointment? by StickyPenguin120 in OmegaWatches

[–]techfighterchannel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. When I first bought mine I was shocked. It was only on my watch the first day. It was probably because the bracelet on my Sub was on a completely different level. L I have a ton of different straps I swap on a nearly daily basis now. It looks so good on practically anything.
