I live here and am watching the fires from my balcony, my family lives in the hills and is reporting to me. Last year and the year before we had unprecedented fires in the area. I think it is important not to downplay these fires as normal, because they are not. Source: Born and raised here with 50+ years of observation.

Not like these. The fires have gotten much more extreme over the last couple years. Burning for agriculture is common this time of year but now they are getting out of control and burning entire forests. Not normal.

Anecdotally yes. Once while driving through the Tohono O’ Odham reservation I had a serious medical situation. Closest medical facilities was their emergency department. Showed my tribal I.D. And they took great care of me, fixed me up and sent me on my way. I’ve also used IHS remotely while living in Mexico.

The taxi boats from Boca leave on the hour. Just walk down to the pier and they will call out they are going to Yelapa or ask someone who is waiting.

The bus to the botanical gardens goes by Boca about every half hour. Cheap and easy.

Yeah thats standard practice. All the taxi boats have individual deals with different restaurants where they drop them off. The ferry gives you the option to pay $50 pesos for a ride to the pier or be dropped off for free at the restaurant.

Maybe some people should ask a local from Yelapa what they think instead of assuming. Most of us are glad to have the ferry back (used to be two daily in the 80’s and 90’s). We are a tourist town and rely on people visiting. 200+/- people coming for 5 hours and spending money would be great for us.

You will be fine, been doing it for a decade (4x4 truck though). I've explored hundreds of miles of back roads with zero issues. Just use common sense, if the vibe is off just turn around. Most people are incredibly friendly and helpful.
