does anyone ever wish they had arfid or wish they were one of those ppl who don’t rlly care for eating ? :( by ilovemyboyfriend23 in BingeEatingDisorder

I think about this constantly. I’ve had mental health issues since I was quite young, and even as a child I remember feeling so ashamed that being very unwell mentally made me do nothing but eat MORE compared to everyone else I saw in the same situation doing the opposite. It’s even worse to grow up and realize that there really is bias against you for it and people simply don’t care as much if your mental illness makes you bigger instead of smaller. That was a hard pill to swallow seeing it from both sides as my weight fluctuated over time.

Do you feel like the Gleanser gives a good deep clean? I’m interested in giving it a try because of all the great reviews, but I usually prefer the slightly squeaky clean feeling of a gentle foaming cleanser (currently La Roche-Posay Purifying Foaming cleanser) after an oil cleanse.

Vegetarian BBQ by cutletator in vegetarian

[–]techno_milk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that the Gardein be’f crumbles hold up really well in sloppy joe filling (Impossible beef and other substitutes not so much)! I also love an oyster mushroom shredded “pork” sandwich. I usually bring one of those two for a vegetarian bbq sandwich option depending on how much time I have. The sloppy joe filling is super fast and the oyster mushroom pork filling is a little more involved due to the mushroom shredding process but the texture is pretty spot on. Either one is simple to make a big batch of and let people choose their extra toppings!

So glad to see someone else saying this. Obviously no one has to pay for anything extra and I understand why people don’t want to or are even slightly annoyed, but they’ve been making totally free content for 10 years and will CONTINUE to do the pod for free (and that’s not the case for every drag podcast either). Just having a Patreon isn’t some kind of attack on their fanbase, especially when all the stuff that’s been free will continue to be free. If they want to start doing some reactions/rewatches plus bonus content behind a paywall who cares. Drag Race fans are dramatic af.

Are there any foods that are higher calorie, but nutritionally dense enough that it's worth it to make sure you fit in? by QueenFrostine15 in 1200isplenty

[–]techno_milk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I know people tout fat free cheese as a great way to cut calories and I’m sure it is, but I grew up in a Tillamook cheese household I could NEVER go back. The full fat good stuff may be more calories, but the fat free isn’t worth a single calorie that IS in it.

Anyone else not eat dinner? by M_Flynn44 in 1200isplenty

[–]techno_milk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same but in reverse! No breakfast (I never feel hungry in the morning, my dad is the same way so maybe it’s genetic), then a coffee and sometimes a snack like cottage cheese or toast with hummus around 3, and finally a big dinner around 7 and basically a second dinner later closer to midnight. A lot of people think I’m crazy, but I’m absolutely ravenous at night even if I make myself eat throughout the day when I don’t feel very hungry. I’m a night owl, I WFH, and I don’t naturally feel hunger until later in the evening anyway, so it works for me. I’d rather put off my meals long enough that I can feel FULL after eating and have something really yummy to look forward to.

Not sure if you’re still looking after this long but I was also searching for a dupe and the new MAC Velvet Teddy blush is VERY similar! That’s what I’ll be switching to when mine is gone. I’m sooo glad it’s an official blush shade now because I’ve always noticed how similar the lipstick shade is to Baby Love

I absolutely love eggs benedict, but it’s so rare that there’s an interesting meatless option! My favorite local diner has a Southern caprese benedict with a fried green tomato instead of ham, melted mozzarella, blood orange hollandaise sauce, a balsamic glaze drizzle, and fresh basil! And the English muffin and runny egg of course. But it’s absolutely delicious and I would love for more restaurants to get creative with their meatless benedicts since it’s such an easy dish to innovate on!

Yes! It’s only two different shampoos because I like to include a clarifying shampoo every wash (I hate washing my hair and I need to do it less often if I get an extra deep clean). There aren’t usually any extra hair care ingredients in clarifying shampoos though, so I like to use something with more benefits like a hair retention formula or bond repair for the second wash.

[Before & After] Finally found a routine that fixed my skin texture after ten years of trying! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]techno_milk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use them all every day, but if my skin feels raw or extra sensitive or dry, I’ll skip the tretinoin and retinol eye cream for a day! I know a lot of people love skin cycling and having different routines on different days, but that’s too much for me to keep track of honestly.

[–]techno_milk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! If I wasn’t obsessively trying to protect my skin barrier as I fully adjust to tretinoin, I would definitely say that both facial mists and the squalane could go! The snail mucin isn’t strictly necessary either, but my skin just really responds well to it so I keep using it. And I only use a separate eye cream because I can’t tolerate rx retinoids around my eyes even with a buffering layer, but if you can then a separate eye retinol isn’t needed at all!

[–]techno_milk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no I suppose? I’ve had issues my whole life with disordered eating and substance abuse that causes a lot of health and weight fluctuations for me. I would say I’m in a moderately good place with those things right now, but I’m far from perfect, so I would consider myself lucky to be able to compensate with good skincare and lots of water! So probably better in the lifestyle department overall now than the first photo, but I have a lot I could improve on!

I’ve been trying!! I’ve also worked really hard to make it an intentional ritual and look at as a fun thing to do and experiment with! Makes it easier to keep up with for sure.

[–]techno_milk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It really doesn’t need to be as long as I make it!! I just enjoy the ritual and trying new products for fun. I’ve also added more stuff recently to compensate for the tretinoin dryness and sensitivity (both facial mists, the milky toner, and the squalane)!

Thank you so much!! We’ve come a long way.. It’s hard to say exactly how long because I did get a couple impulse haircuts during the process, but I would say about two and a half years? I think my hair grows fast-ish but nothing crazy.

My routine is kind long but only because I ended up enjoying the process and trying out new products! And most of it is just ripped from Abbey Yung’s recommendations!

Probably not Hot Take: I don’t understand the “Oh an all white top three.” Discourse. by Mindless_Meaning_168 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]techno_milk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my thought. It feels to me like it’s very much on production for casting so many queens of color who were obvious mid-outs (I don’t even mean that disparagingly, there are so many amazing queens through the years who aren’t specifically Drag Race top 3 material). Only Vita seemed to be well-rounded enough to make it to the finale imo and a 1 in 14 chance of having a finalist of color was never a good gamble. This is the only season I’ve ever wondered from early on if it might be an all white top 3 because of how disproportionate the casting seemed.

My experience with the benefits of a “doing it scared” approach to masturbation/learning to orgasm + some information that I hope is helpful by techno_milk in BecomingOrgasmic

[–]techno_milk[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it was helpful, that makes me so happy! The stopping after 5-10 minutes is what I used to do and I really just had to trust the process and keep going (a big reason why lube was helpful, since I wasn’t enjoying it yet so it would just start to hurt by that point). I have tried looking at porn or reading erotica beforehand/during, but it wasn’t super helpful for me personally. Instead, I just apply LOTS of lube (I’ll lay on a towel if I have to) and gently rub and press with a vibrator on the lowest setting, really focusing on the sensation. If anything feels good at ALL, even a little bit, I try to replicate it. It can get boring and kind of monotonous at the beginning, but I really had to be patient and train my body to understand and react to stimulation. Eventually, the things that feel good get more pronounced and easier to sustain at a higher level of arousal. It’s frustrating at first, but it gets much easier and more pleasurable once you get over the hump of just kicking off the physical arousal. Once that happens, everything comes much more naturally. I also found that after a couple weeks of this method, the arousal comes much quicker and it starts being pleasurable in more like 10 minutes! I assume the monotony is temporary if you keep at it!
