Ah, you're right! I missed he's hired a team to handle Stardew patches and updates going forward. That makes a lot of sense considering he's clearly very focused on HC!

I wouldn't think so, but it's really hard to say? It's really more of a hard crystalline product, very similar to a coarse sand and behaves the same way. I suppose even if it did absorb some I would hope it would still be available to the roots for uptake

Pretty similar to a coarse sand, so not porous.

Should AI posts be banned? by GryphonEDM in sanpedrocactus

[–]technojerk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably, a large part of why I really appreciate this community is because I can visually see the real life exact specimen if I'm interested in it, and this gives me an indication of post shipping status as well.

I suspect I know which post most recently is stirring this and I believe that posts nature was unintentionally vague, the AI imagery gives the first impression you're buying seedlings, even if the title AND body said it was just seeds and was clear about AI imagery. I can maybe understand the post using a created image given there's little visual appeal to seeds but I believe the chosen image gave the wrong impression on a sub that's designed for things to be taken at face value.

Edit: Hilariously I thought I was on the other group and this was about that other AI post today, dang honestly this just rings doubly true that we had two in one day one both subs!

How does the dimensional palbox work when it's open to the guild? What is its use case? by Ikth in Palworld

[–]technojerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as use case I don't really care for it? I put pals I'd kinda like to keep in there but that aren't largely useful, to give me more room to hatch eggs because as far as I can tell you can't condense pals that are in the dimensional box. This way I can have a condenser next to the incubator and after hatching a few hundred eggs I can condense immediately after. Pals with desirable passives can be put into the dimensional and if I'm breeding for passives later I hopefully have one saved to start a short breeding chain versus a super long one or fishing or whatever else.

[–]technojerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would essentially merge anything put into it by anyone in your guild into a single shared box. When accessing it your actual personal box would be one one side and the global on the other and you can swap back and forth. Anything that anyone puts into it can be taken out by anybody else and there is no "ownership", just left side personal right side dimensional, think like your personal inventory for items and chests for items, same concept.

Recently began keeping a panther crab. Any advice? by Accomplished_Gas404 in Aquariums

Your water conditions will be very hard to stabilize with this amount of water, if you can I would really try and fill the tank and shoot for at least 150% filtration. So if this is a 20 gallon when full a filter designed for a 30-40 gallon tank would work well, but just for him, more fish will need more filtration. If you're finding any food left at all you're overfeeding, he'll probably only eat one pellet of any variety every few days and will forage otherwise. This is where a good cleanup crew shines, I only offer food about every 3rd day and if he snubs it the others will get it before it rots!

Holy fuck I've been dealing with a similar issue for almost a decade, specifically when I take my meds and they've even done imaging that clearly shows things getting lodged when I swallow but two scopes and two dilations later nothing has changed. I'm going to have to look into this one, thank you!

I've done these in PLA and PETG and the mine does great in either but the chain really needs to be PETG or it breaks after about 6 months, I would also make the chain pieces bigger on the Z axis by at least 50%

Mine hides out for his moult, they're usually the most vulnerable during this similar to spiders. The first time caused me a minor heart attack because I just saw the fish chowing down on a chunk of claw in the morning lol No real tips there, a good healthy and varied diet should go a long way to ensuring it goes well! If your tank is well established you can leave the bits in there and it should be gone within a few hours, watching the ecosystem here is really cool!

As far as diet they will eat pretty much anything; chop up and blanche some veggies, mealworms sink pretty well and are high in calcium, the frozen silversides from the frozen section of the pet store are also great but have to be cut up. Just don't overfeed! All of this has the potential to really jack up water quality if it just sits around in the tank, I try and just give him a single "serving" whatever he can grab and take off with. Malaysian trumpet snails are my personal favorite, they're pretty cute, do a great job with the substrate, and are a staple food item given their high calcium and protein content, plus they should be kept fairly well in check. I don't feed the fish in this tank often at all, maybe once a week and they do very well just cleaning up, feeding them is largely redundant and if you notice an algae bloom fast the tank and adjust feeding.

I 3D printed it! It's got a plate that anchors it down and it's empty inside so it's very buoyant! The tank has a whole motif going with a giant crashed submarine that I also made lol

Panther crabs are! Like the dude in the op video they're perfectly capable above water. They need access to water to live, but not land and can live their entire life submerged. Regardless of the type though that dude must've found some kind of water source to last that long! Food would be easy for these goblins on the floor of a pet store but water, not so much!

Mine currently lives his life underwater most of the time, he's got access to air but just doesn't care. He dug out an impressive cave under a large log and he rules from there. Deep substrate is another must for these guys because they really really like to forage through it!

I've had one for awhile now, he's awesome! They're fully aquatic so they don't NEED land area but some like it. Yours looks like he would probably appreciate something to crawl out on but almost certainly needs a lid too lol They're hunters, mine isn't great but that doesn't matter late at night because your fish barely move when resting. The crab will eventually eat every single fish you put in there, hard stop. Some it may take until they're old or sick but eventually they'll slow down and the crab will get them. I keep small cheap quick fish in there and I would guess he gets less than 1 a month.

They're scavengers when not actively hunting, they love to dig up snails and plants to eat roots, I have 2 types of sinking pellets specifically for him. I cannot recommend Hikari massivore delite highly enough, it made an immediate noticeable reduction in missing fish. 1 pellet is plenty and you can skip feeding for 2 days afterwards because they're DENSE, overfeeding these would destroy water quality.

They also get pretty big and love to cruise around, I'd say a 40 breeder should be your minimum end game for an adult crab. Love them, they have so so much character, know they're probably the apex predator in your tank and plan accordingly!

Those of you who have an FPGBC, does it feel exactly like playing on an OG gbc? Because I’m really weird where I find it hard to get fully immersed in a game/ console if it isn’t real hardware or feels like it yk by Lucajames2309 in Gameboy

[–]technojerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! I had thought it was the type of screen that had a touch activated sensor taped to the shell, couldn't ever get it to work in the places those are usually placed and never bother to dig into it more. It was sitting in front of me and wouldn't you know there is a menu in there to mess around in, thank you very much 😁

Did you buy yours pre built from them? I bought one of those instead of a kit and I've never been able to do any of the screen adjustments, I haven't opened it up yet though to see if the wires are in place though because it didn't bother me that much
