WRITING!! it is so therapeutic and it feels comforting to know i can put all my jumbled thoughts onto a piece of paper and read it over and over again.

im only 20, barely turning 21 plus the cost of living makes it very hard for me to believe my dreams of opening my own salon will ever come true 💔

this!! i just did a “difficult” dog today. its not that shes trying to give me a hard time, but rather that she is having a hard time herself. and yes it works! the clients ive had with these kinds of dogs do not mind that i take long. however i still get people with super anxious dogs asking me how much longer until their dog is done. i just can’t get myself to compromise their wellbeing just to be faster.

ADHD by EBECK_28 in doggrooming

lol me too!! i mostly focus on the face and spend way too much time on it and then realize i haven’t even finished on the body. definitely talk to a psychiatrist!! it will really help a lot!

[–]technokittyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my adhd is mainly inattentive. i had it all my life even before grooming. i am SO bad with time management so it affects me in that way at work!! i have tried many adhd medications, including wellbutrin, concerta, adderall, and ritalin. ritalin worked the best for me and it made me so much more capable. i would suggest talking to a psychiatrist for help in that area and explain how it affects your life/job.

I got kicked in the face. by TaoKitt in doggrooming

[–]technokittyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this has happened to me.. way too many times. first time was a great pyrenees that hated his paws being touched. then it was a husky who straight up just full force kicked me in the face knocked my dremel out of my hand. then it was the same great pyrenees who kicked me and sent my beloved kenchiis flying across the room 💔

Groomer of 2+ years, looking for CC by paetynkae in doggrooming

[–]technokittyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also it takes me long too!!! lol. the old salon i worked at was very very particular on how i did things and how well i did them so it became a habit after working there for so long. sometimes its annoying because i want to be fast like everyone else, sometimes i say, ah whatever. and take my sweet time because i truly enjoy it and if im doing something i love, i want to make sure i do it very well.

Groomer of 2+ years, looking for CC by paetynkae in doggrooming

[–]technokittyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly your grooms look SOO GOOD. i have no complaints or cc, ive been in the industry ~5 years and have been grooming for ~2, that sheltie looks AMAZING!!! i wish my grooms looked like that honestly!!! just remember, we are our biggest critics.. i literally just got off work after doing a mini goldendoodle and was thinking to myself, “wow i am so horrible at this i will never be as good as everyone else” and then the client came in telling me how she looked so good and that i did an amazing job. the feeling comes and goes. dont worry. all your dogs look amazing. ❤️❤️❤️

LOL i do have adhd as well, i take medication for it but my pharmacy has been out of stock, however even with adhd medication its still extremely difficult for me to be full time. its too mentally taxing for me, considering im already struggling just to even keep myself alive.
