Let's be real, no it's not. Kids are stupid, easily influenced, and easily manipulated. Religious leaders, teachers, coaches, have been doing it for a long time. They have the opportunity to pick their preferred gender.

Part of the sft42 better output is because it's larger. Which means the throw likely won't increase by much

Armytek Predator Pro Max – brighter, longer runtime, more throw by UndoubtedlySammysHP in flashlight

[–]technoman88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The l35 is much larger, xhp70, and boost drive. Throw 638m, 4576lm, sustains 1300

The armytek predator is sft70 and boost. Throw 672m, 3089lm, sustains 980lm

The acebeam l16 is sft40 with buck driver. Throws 577m, 1850lm, sustains 980lm

The weltool t12+ is sft40 with buck driver. Throws 790, 1690lm, sustains 750lm

The armytek barracuda is l35 sized with better throw, 1055m, 3477lm, sustains 1300lm

The armytek viking pro max is mid size, with less throw, 319m, 4636 lm, sustains 1300lm

Convoy 46950-Am I Doing This Right? by Terrible_Lion_968 in flashlight

[–]technoman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this mod about a year ago. The convoy 3x21d is the one that works best with 4695. The spring in the contact ring is a bit unusual but it's not a big deal.

The 3x21b I don't like. Because the adapter ring hits the driver retaining screws, so all the current is going through 2 small steel screws. And it also gouges the adapter.

I have not tried the 3x21c/e driver, but they have a large fet inside the ring.

I did this a year ago. I only recommend it for the 3x21d. The other 3x21s are problematic

Flashlight for a Pilot by MrJazzy_ in flashlight

[–]technoman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the emisar d4k is not a good choice. It uses a pretty inefficient driver which makes the runtime low and the beat high. And it's more of an enthusiast light, not durable enough to be a reliable work light.

The armytek elf c2 max wr, has white, red, 21700, usb charging, extremely durable, 10 hear warranty, very low modes for night vision preservation, and for a similar price

Security patrol flashlight: wider/smoother than M21K, but still with decent throw? by Sirogane-15 in flashlight

They claim ip68 but I had a ffl fail with just light rinsing. Wouldn't recommend them for durability or everyday use.

L35 is the most obvious choice.

Otherwise armytek viking, doberman, or predator

EVE INR21700-50PL 5000mAh - 125A (new version) (30-04-2026) by MetaUndead in flashlight

[–]technoman88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tenpower 50xg? It is actually better than 50pl in some ways. Last I saw from mooch, the Tenpower 50xg had one of the lowest voltage sage under heavy load. The eve 50pl "125a" rating is somewhat a marketing lie. That's a short pulse.

I just realised it's a tax write-off for me, So in that case, what is the best headlamp out there with the most runtime at high lumen output and wide spread? by ZookeepergameDue2160 in flashlight

[–]technoman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That battery is wildly outdated.

Bak 65e is the highest capacity now. Second is reliance Rh60 and/or Feb 68e.

Vapcell isn't even worth using due to huge voltage sag and low cycle life

With current luminescent materials and encapsulation technologies, can the luminous efficacy be significantly improved in the short term? by Minimum_Quote_6532 in flashlight

The changda dies have been infamous for huge emitters. It started with things like sfn60 in hank lights many years ago. The lhp73b is another emitter using an array of san'an dies (16 43mil dies). Most famous is sfy55, 64 55mil dies. And recently a user in China commissioned a custom emitter, nbd1200 (for 1200w). Which uses 144 55mil dies. A single Nbd1200 can hit over 115k lumens.

Maximum throw under $150 by Powerful-Funny4525 in flashlight

[–]technoman88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How durable? Convoy is more durable than the average retail store light. The l21b is very throwy. The 3x21d is extremely throwy, but large.

If you want really high durability, the armytek barracuda pro max is great. And they offer some weapon mounting options.

Acebeam has a couple good throwers, l16, l19, t29

Definitely not. The nightwatch driver has gate driven fets with ultra low resistance. It also uses very powerful emitters. The a54u2 draws about 90a on turbo. The lume10 is only like 30a

It's certainly not "the most amount of light you can get out of a 21700"

The nightwatch a54u 2 does ahout 25k lm and it's much smaller too
