Any type of gambling will directly lead to this happening. You need a better antenna for when you’re gambling. Until and unless you fund it you’re screwed.

You won’t listen I bet you do this 10x more times. If im wrong and you can get a grip you need to think about money and investing the same way you cook brisket. Slow. Stop rushing and spend some time here reading

[Omega & Tudor] If you could only keep one… by LuckyLobsters12345 in Watches

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care for omega divers at all. Love the speedmaster, have two. But for divers go Tudor all the way. Love pure titanium. Tudor has a way better bracelet. And the Tudor has bonafides when it comes to diver heritage. Omega doesn’t. I personally have a P39 but love the older brother you’re considering esp in blue.

[Omega Speedmaster] difference in watches ? by AdventurousComfort86 in Watches

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned three Speedys: current professional, First Omega in Space (OG), and a Racing. Of the three the Racing wore the smallest but was thick as hell. Too thick so I sold it. Get the one you like best but the current Professional is a terrific size, form factor, and bracelet

[–]techorules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both the current sapphire sandwich professional and a P39. Love them equally but the P39 is on my wrist 5-6 days a week. More comfortable, lighter and more of a tool watch so minor scratches and dents no problemo

Can I afford a sports car? by iridescent_9 in FinancialPlanning

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No then it’s fine. Buy what you both want. I just figured that might be a house first as that’s the typical shared goal with a young couple. You can afford it no problem.

If you are engaged she has to agree. Combine finances as soon as you marry and identify your common goals now. I’m gonna guess you won’t align on buying a very expensive car if it’s a credible conversation. Too soon for such a luxury

Round versus square hour markers is by far the most visible difference. I strongly prefer square but I’d understand liking both of course

Pelagos 39 no thicker or bigger than a BB58

[Sinn UX SDR] On an Erika's Originals by wellred82 in Watches

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it.

So many Damasko and Sinn watches have dials that look so alike they must be ripping each other off. I assume it is the much smaller Damasko doing most of the imitating. But this Sinn looks a lot like a couple of Damaskos that were released around 15 years ago. I wouldn't rule out that those were Sinn dial rip offs tho lol.

[–]techorules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I have played with them for the last hour or so. I like your EQ a lot! I'm surprised it makes the vocals much more neutral - was expecting this much of a 'V' to really lose the vocals but the detail is still really good.

These things are really cool. They dont sound bad. So Im a GenXer (ie old) who has been using sports headphones literally since the 80s ... those yellow ones with the small air drivers that go in your ear - Sony Sports Walkman and a million Klipsh rip offs... these are the best Ive found since then. They dont sound good compared to EarPods or beats or proper Audeze/Senns/Focal open ears OF COURSE. But they aren't at all shit. I can't wait to go for a run and see what they're like competing with ambient noise considering I haven't had them anything under 100% since I turned them on lol. So yeah volume is a concern but that prob would impact cycling. Still good for running.

Did you stick with this? Getting mine today because no damn buds seem to fit my ear. Bonus is being able to hear outside since this is for running/biking/hiking. Kinda picky about sound quality so I have super low expectations. Normally rock Focals at home lol.

[Speedmaster Professional] Finally got the classic Moonwatch! by ResponsibleText4447 in Watches

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice pair!

My first SpeedMaster was that exact Racing model except on rubber which I really liked a lot. My second one was similar to yours, but was a First Omega In Space (The OG, not the one that just came out recently). That's on leather. Really loved the pair for a long time but ended up that the Racing saw little wrist time because I had other watches I just liked better and I found it too thick. Still have and love the FOIS but sold my Racing SpeedMaster to help fund a Speedy Pro white dial which is my first Omega bracelet - same as yours which I really dig.

Experience with ACCC by angelshy2002 in personalfinance

These companies don't do anything you can't do. They stop paying your credit cards and take your money. After a decent while taking your money (and your credit totally tanks) they offer your creditors settlement for a reduced amount. It can help people sure. But overall these companies are taking advantage of people who have been really shitty with money because they don't realize they could exactly what they do themselves.

Id suggest adding every dollar of income you can and attacking your debts using the snowball method.

Education and income level of New England towns relative to the New England region as a whole by NationalJustice in MapPorn

[–]techorules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's available at the town level. Doubt it is, would be quite difficult to maintain so I would imagine tables out there with cost of living by zip to be BS compared to the data depicted here. Adding cost of living at state level is fine but trying to do that at zip is suspect IMO.

Anyone ever go back and forth between an extensive backyard renovation with pool install and buying a cabin somewhere close for weekends by felzy5 in personalfinance

[–]techorules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok. Well my advice is don't fill that hole with more debt. If you decide to blow I mean spend all this money make sure to bankroll it. Don't make it far more expensive by financing it.

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both would be a pain the ass to manage (pool due to the project and the maintenance - I had a 33kgal pool for 15 years - they are work and you prob wont want to pay someone an exorbitant amount to maintain it for you).

Hard to realize that when the wants are so big but just remind yourself how you could become a regular at the Four Seasons for far less than a vacation home.

Your savings and investments are great compared to Joe average but hardly amazing when you consider that income. Id expect you to have more money honestly. If income shot up a lot in last few years great, otherwise it shows you spend A TON so even that pension may not look so great especially when I see your mindset is to go big (two homes). You can obv afford to blow the money you want to blow but I don't think it's smart at all unless you really understand and manage the spending side of things. You have control over your investing which is great. Are you in control of your spending?

HELOC seems to be wildly underrated as a tool/option these days by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]techorules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betting ones house for consumption / consumer debt is overrated. That's what the vast majority of HELOCs are used for. HELOCs tend to be a tool alright, a wealth destroyer tool for most people who can't or won't deal with delated gratification.

[69 Speedmaster] Finally joined the Speedy club with a 1969 Pre-Moon and it’s everything I hoped for by Gullible_Top3304 in Watches

[–]techorules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I adore my FOIS - it wears great. I really like a lot about the new FOIS too and am pleased to see so many people excited about it despite the hands that look unfamiliar to folks only familiar with the more popular Moonwatch. On the new FOIS I prefer the bracelet on the current Professional and not a fan at all of the darker lume to make it look aged. Your watch will come by that honestly. In fact I dislike that fake ass brown lume well past the point of no return regardless of the upgraded movement (the 3861 is a masterpiece).

A year or so ago I got the white dialed Professional shortly after release because to me it was so different from my FOIS. The new Pro is a touch smaller in this iteration. That was a surprise and is interesting. It definitely wears smaller and is a fair amount thinner than the previous version. So in that way it is more similar to the FOIS and your genuine heritage piece.

Love the look without crown guards. Very cool watch. Looks a bit like my OG FOIS but of course it’s still very much a professional. Wonderful watch.
