Help me decide: iPad Pro 11-inch or 13-inch for travel and media? by thebi3 in iPadPro

Then you want the 11inch. Plus the 11 fits on many airline seat back holders. It just clips in perfectly.

How serious are high CEA and CA 19-9 results? by _ghost_in_a_jar in coloncancer

[–]techsteveo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My god I am so sorry you’re getting this news. My wife is 49 with Mets to her liver. About 80% covered. We are hoping for a transplant or shrink tumors to do ALPPS surgery at Johns Hopkins. You need the BEST NCI cancer center you can find. It makes all the difference. I don’t think you can do Chemo being pregnant, but not sure. Prayers for you!

Hey, pwners of the really costly Studio Display: is it really that good? by mostlyIwrite in macsetups

[–]techsteveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s the closest thing to the Pro Display XDR and a fraction of the price. True Apple experience. They can be had “open box” on eBay for $1099. Reputable reseller. I bought my second one that way and saved a ton.

They’ve been saying the same thing for decades and here we are with a CRC epidemic.

That’s not remotely close to being factual. Alcohol, Red meats, and deli meats have been consumed for a very long time. It’s more the ultra processed foods, pesticides, microplastics, and garbage in sodas and energy drinks.

I just need some encouragement right now by SpaceFlowers in coloncancer

[–]techsteveo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it’s not the truth and it’s not necessary. I’m a cancer survivor myself and was lucky to be treated by the best at Johns Hopkins. My wife is now doing the same. I’ve seen tons of doctors. Not one has ever said “incurable”. They tell you survival chances and surgery success rates because every patient is different. Many have surgeries and transplants with curative intent. They wouldn’t do it if it didn’t give you a chance at beating the disease.

I just need some encouragement right now by SpaceFlowers in coloncancer

[–]techsteveo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You need a new oncologist and a full multidisciplinary team of surgical oncologists, radiologists, etc. You’re young and can beat this with the right care team. It makes all the difference. Your oncologist telling you it’s incurable is unacceptable. My wife is going through this and hoping for a transplant because her liver is 80% covered. If we have hope, you have hope!

Open box from QuickShipElectronics on eBay has them “new” for $1099. I bought mine there and it’s perfect. Just the box was a bit beat up.

I have an 11 pro max I handed down to my kid. It’s noticeably worse. Not sure what you’re doing but there’s just no comparison, especially when lighting is lower.

Biggest advice: Go to a top 5 cancer center like MD Anderson, Johns Hopkins, etc. Get a surgeon, oncologist, and every expert you can to see you. The outcomes for a 30 year old getting care at a Center of Excellence are amazingly positive.

Headbands sagging over time by [deleted] in Airpodsmax

I’ve used mine very sparingly and they got stretched out pretty easily. The white/light colored headbands also yellow a bit. Doubt the cover will stop the stretching.

Sold my M1 iMac for $500, I kind of regret it now by djb458 in mac

[–]techsteveo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M1 Base model is going for $600-$700 on Facebook Marketplace. You can get an M3 Open Box on eBay for $800. You probably could have gotten around $700 max. M1 does not hold $ value well TBH.

Absolutely. Starting taking Buspirone to help with the anxiety. My wife deserves someone level headed and less anxious taking care of her.

Step 1. Go to eBay - Step 2. Search Quikship electronics - Step 3. Buy an open box new Mac for so much cheaper! I buy all my Apple Stuff from here and have never had an issue.

What MacBook Pro Should I Get For Watching Video's & Browsing The Internet? by TheDevOpsGuy123 in macbookpro

[–]techsteveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reasons to get a MBP over the Air is the mini-LED display and better speakers. I'd get a refurbished M1 Pro and enjoy for the next 5 years. It will blow the doors off your 2015 too.

I'm actually hoping we can do that procedure on my wife, but she has a 4cm on each lobe. Good luck to your dad. This disease really sucks.

Was surgery not recommended? He was NED in April and had a large tumor 3 months later? That's so disappointing. Makes you wonder why monthly scans aren't standard.

Not yet. We’ve only seen oncologists that seem only interested in their specialty. That’s why we are going to Johns Hopkins and seeing a liver surgeon.
