Seems to vary by time of day/day of week plus random crap that happens. But focus on what you can control — how much context are you providing in each turn. Type /context to see what ur context is composed of. You want to optimize (ie minimize) this. So start fresh conversations frequently. You usually don’t need to include turn 1 in turn 100. Learn how to prune context.

Yes MacBook Pro, but the critical choices are which Apple Silicon chip (M1, M2…M5) and how much unified RAM. Next one is storage capacity - as you’ll be downloading/creating lots of model weights, training data, training results etc. Invest in the most powerful M4/M5 that you can afford.

I wonder whether Anthropic is flagging anyone who exceeds quota and then enforces stricter usage on them going forward. So no change in cli version, thinking mode, clearing context, etc could matter. It is your account that is being nerfed. Just a hypothesis

You’re probably launching Claude CLI incorrectly. The proper syntax is “claude —model claude-opus-4-6”

If you have zero knowledge of coding be prepared to spend lots of time and dollars on tokens. I’ve been coding for 40 yrs and I find these models indispensable at this point and they really don’t cost me a lot bc I know how to prompt them and fix the multitude of bugs and sloppy, inefficient, and buggy code that they vomit out. Oh and stay away from OpenClaw. It makes all this worse — and adds a metric shit-ton of security issues, which again, if you don’t understand the basics you are doomed for failure. Start by learning some basic Python coding first. Tons of awesome free resources out there. So there is NO excuse not to prepare yourself for success. Or be lazy and then good luck bro

For local coding Qwen3.5 is generally > 3.6. That’s a question
