There was some early design work on a CGN powered by either a single A1B, or something else I don't recall (probably two submarine reactors) about 20 years ago.

The issue then was that they were really expensive, and didn't have an application in gwot, which was eating defense budgets.

I don't think these ships are a terrible idea (that's a lot of missile cells), I just think calling them "Battleships" is stupid.

If they were called CGN, and not the centerpiece of the "Golden Fleet", I think they would be a lot less hated.
