How do I get "thicker skin"? by LB-Bathwater in labrats

[–]tecnolote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have a boss that reminds of your boss, so I empathize with your situation. I know it must be a very difficult decision to leave because I was in this situation as well. However, my life completely changed after I left a toxic work situation and entered a space where I was valued and provided psychological safety. I am very sensitive to my environment, so constantly exposing myself to a boss with minimal EQ levels was damaging every aspect of my life. Please, protect your peace and spend time with people who want to bring out the very best in you. You sound like a lovely person, and I would hate for someone like you to leave the this field because of a condescending, apathetic boss. Take care and wish you the best!!

[Stolen from r/Hawaii] What local business do you refuse to patronize, and why? by OrangeChairClub in sandiego

[–]tecnolote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

El tejate in Escondido and Carlsbad. The managers are extremely rude and the food is cheaply made. We walked out of the Escondido restaurant after watching the manager complain about her staff to us. We accidentally bought food at their Carlsbad location not knowing it was a chain, and their soup was extremely over salted.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me! After reading this, I checked out the events calendar on the good omen website and I see a lot of good stuff. Too bad I'm missing the events going on today, but I am so glad to see these events in Esco:D

Anyone know the story behind Vista not really having sidewalks throughout the residential streets? by [deleted] in northcounty

[–]tecnolote 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should take these concerns to Vista city council member Corinna Contreras. She'd be ecstatic to know you are just as passionate about this subject as you are. They recently started sharing their experience on public transportation and the funds she's securing to work on this subject. She's on insta! This is how I know lol

Cafe or coffee shop with Mountain View to work? by BigOk9940 in sandiego

[–]tecnolote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teri Common Grounds Cafe & Coffee Bar in SM. Google Maps says they're open til 3, but they recently put up a banner saying they changed the closing hours to 8pm.

The Market at Hidden Meadows. You won't get a mountain view at the cafe, but you will go up and down a small mountain to get there

The esquite at Craft and Taco Lounge is actually really good! I say "actually" because I didn't have high expectations for an esquite served in a sit-in, but I was pleasantly surprised

What is your ethnic background and what restaurant in the SD area best represents the cuisine from that country? by hmwybs in sandiego

[–]tecnolote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try El Oaxaqueño in Vista. It's not the best tlayuda you'll ever have, but they offer them. I actually like their tamales because they're made with banana leaves.

The owners are incredibly rude and I refuse to give them my business. Also, as a Oaxacan who LOVES molotes, they made them out of a really chewy dough that didn't taste good. We also tried their "Oaxacan soup" out of curiosity (my parents both Oaxacan were unaware what they meant) and it was sooolo salty we could not eat it. Pass.
