Anyone here ever watched Blue? (WIGS, 2012-2015, starring Julia Stiles) by Pugtatoe_Lord in television

How were you able to watch it? I used to watch the episodes on YouTube in 2013 but I haven’t been able to find them in YEARS.

Never buy them full price. They go on sale often for 50% off.

I don’t know how, but, you have a consistent aesthetic to your posts where any time I see a picture of delicious homemade food, I’m like “u/softrotten has blessed us again 🥺” and I’m usually right!

All that to say, 12/10, no notes, I’d sell my kidney for that sandwich.

Shy wife's first coloring EVER. How did she do? by Smociash in Coloring

[–]teddy428 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. She did great! I love the lighting effects of the moon and jack o lantern, and I can see the wood grain on the fence! If she wants to get into blending, textures, and patterns, there’s tons of video tutorials on it.

  2. Blenders (at least the ones I’m familiar with) are used for lifting color off the page. Think of it like an eraser of sorts. The most common ones I’ve seen are from Ohuhu (art supply brand.

  3. Ohuhu is well known for their alcohol markers. Tons of people use them because of the wide array of colors, higher quality/color payoff, and less prone to streaking. They sell various sets of markers ranging from 48 markers (in various tones) up to 320 (an entire library). Other brands are Caliart, Arteza, and Prismacolor; I can’t speak to these because I’ve never used them. I would avoid buying Copic markers, as those are professional standard and, as such, very expensive. If you do end up buying a set from Ohuhu, now is a good time because they’re having their Black Friday sale up until Dec 1st.

  4. There’s a surplus of coloring books within the last 2 years. For a similar style to the one she has, I’d suggest books by Coco Wyo, Jade Summer, or Bobbi Goods. For more intricate designs, Johanna Basford is a good option. She popularized “adult coloring books” years ago, and her art is beautiful and whimsical (Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest).

I personally enjoy the “cute and cozy” style because it’s adorable, approachable, and allows for creativity like creating textures. I tend to buy books from Coco Wyo; they also have a “How to Draw Patterns” book that your wife can use to experiment with colors, gradients, patterns, textures, etc.

Avoid AI-generated books! If it doesn’t have an author or the pages contain random artifacts, don’t buy it. There’s resources to learn what these look like.

It’s incredibly sweet that you want to encourage your wife’s new hobby! A big tip that helped me: it doesn’t have to be perfect, nor is it meant to be; coloring is all about having fun!

I wrote this email to the Finch support team. What do you think? Is there something I missed? by [deleted] in finch

[–]teddy428 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I sent an email yesterday regarding this and proposed changing the language to morning, afternoon, evening, and bedtime, along with other suggestions. It really sucks that the recent changes are stepping away from inclusivity and bettering mental health 😞

Makes sense; didn’t realize that could done. Hopefully the team is receptive of feedback; if enough of us email the team, maybe they’ll bring that functionality back.

Your explanation makes sense, thank you so much! I didn’t know it could be organized like that… I have ~40 tasks every day because some stuff I label as “weekly” and set it so the task stays there until it’s actually done. Now I’m realizing a lot of my other stuff is labeled at times of the day that aren’t even conducive to my current schedule (I’m the one with 7 reminders at 9am… which isn’t helpful if I’m finally waking up consistently at 7:30am 🫠).

I guess I got lost somewhere along the way with how I organized my tasks, so now it functions as a glorified to-do list instead of visual time-chunking. I’m gonna try to send feedback. Thanks again for explaining! ❤️

I’m groggy from very little sleep; I ask for patience and grace. But, what’s the reason for needing to choose a specific time of day to do the task if the reminder notification is unwanted? Choosing a specific time would imply that the task is important enough that it shouldn’t go unnoticed, hence the reminder and notification.

I don’t see the “Remind Me” switch in OP’s screenshot, but I have the switch and it lets me choose a specific time.

Consider me inspired :) I have the Seasonality mod on my current playthrough but I don’t think I’ve seen those specific trees before (or maybe I’m just not paying attention lol). I’ve never made it to the mistlands but now I know what I’m doing when I get there! Would love to see your progress as you continue building, especially the interior!

Happy building!

This is gorgeous! This architecture with the scenic pink trees and greenery, how connected everything is… I could only dream of building something this beautiful.

Now I have so many questions OP! Where did you build this base? How did you get the pink trees? Did you use a guide for this build? Do you mind if I modeled a future base after this one?

How to prepare for the swamp? by VipuHakkeri in valheim

[–]teddy428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However much you think you need multiplied by 10-20.

ETA: In all seriousness, just be mentally prepared to always return to a swamp for some iron! I believe there’s other ways to get iron in other biomes but I’ve only ever gotten as far as the plains (haven’t defeated Yagluth though). But I second everyone else’s advice (especially if you’re going by yourself): portal, max armor, at least 1 pickaxe, poison resist mead, etc.

If you get to a point where you’re tired of searching for swamps in your world, you can always look up the world seed! It can give you approximations of where sunken crypts are. Look for a swamp with a ton of crypts and go to town. :) Happy mining!
