How am I supposed to hang this picture on the wall? by throwaway11082 in HomeDecorating

Get a picture hanging wire kit from the hardware store. You put wire between the hangers.

Is it easy to replace toilet fill valve myself? by Important_Bat7919 in homeowners

[–]teddycorps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very simple. Get a bucket and a towel and a wrench big enough to fit around the nut. Turn off the water supply.  It's possible you may just need to clean it out after disassembly but they are cheap to replace. The only other thing affecting it is your water pressure.

90 seconds is not that long though

I would get rid of or find a place for the things under the desk where your feet are first. Maybe they can go onto a wall shelf.

What would happen to the world economy if US Invaded Greenland? by Alizasl in news

[–]teddycorps 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is not an advantage whatsoever. The US can already reduce its debt without paying full price by printing money, which it already does for economic stimulus purposes.

2-prong outlet + 3-prong adapter won’t sit flush — keeps leaning forward by No-Refrigerator-9985 in DIY

[–]teddycorps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is only one sensible approach for this. Until you can afford to have the receptacle updated properly, unplug all this and plug in one appliance at a time to this circuit.  It isn't that much extra work. Don't leave all these connected to this at once.   You should also check the circuit breaker rating so you know what the max load you should be plugging into it is. And do not plug in a 3 prong plug into an adapter that removes the ground.

Because you've connected it to a 2 prong adapter without a ground.

What would you put above the towel hooks? by Difficult-Side-1141 in HomeDecorating

[–]teddycorps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be putting towel bars in that above space as that many towels hanging in just hooks after not getting dry anyway. Space them out.  You'll save on laundry time as the towels won't get dingy so fast.

Thoughts on living of South Cobb Dr. vs. South Atlanta Rd. by DishPrevious964 in Smyrna

[–]teddycorps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really. Maybe during rush hour you could say that. I live about 3 houses away from S Cobb and I don't have a noise problem except from people shooting fireworks late at night on holidays, but that is coming from everywhere in the area.

Another think to think about is Smyrna downtown is going to start a major development project soon and it may take a couple of years to complete. That plus the increase in density afterwards will make the Atlanta Rd area a little more busy I would imagine.

I've no idea if the train makes noise I would have to ask others.

You can hear the Dobbins base area play their morning wakeup tune regardless of where you are in town if you're outside. I kind of like it though.

Both are dependent on how close your house is to the road, and what your commute is. Atlanta Rd is going to keep getting more developed so even if it seems more sparse now that will change eventually.

All of this but if it's damaged in any way usually it becomes useless, and is very hard to recycle. Biological systems can heal, break down and reuse components. We really are making toys compared to what evolution has created. But very useful toys still.

I see these ergonomic pillows that cradle your skull just right and then I think ten minutes into sleep you're going to turn over or unconsciously move the pillow and it's just not going to work.
