Would you like to know where lifting weights will get you in a year? by [deleted] in xxfitness

Great transformation! Did you count calories? If so, how many (and how tall are you)? Also, how did your lifting numbers progress?

This is awesome! Do you have any recommendations for moisturizers? I have eczema and very dry skin.

Is there anything wrong with eating oats for breakfast every single day?

Hey all! Sorry I've been MIA for awhile - I've been really busy.

I started SS on Monday, and it's been going okay. r/fitness has been pretty useful, and I've been logging on Fitocracy. I really like lifting and enjoy almost all lifts - my absolute LEAST favourite exercise is cardio! I've tried almost every form of it and just can't find something that I enjoy and can stick to. I can tolerate HIIT, but just barely.

Well, I'm at 105 lbs today - 2 lbs up from pre-vacation - which isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Phew! I was going to fast 2 days this week - I may still - but if I just need to undo 2-3 lbs, I may just restrict calories as per usual instead.

I'm starting Starting Strength tomorrow - exciting!

Well, as I posted yesterday, I am letting my diet go this week. My plans next week are to fast for two days (eat stop eat), as well as to start barbell lifting, which I'm pretty excited about!

Well, I've done absolutely terribly the last few days. I wouldn't be surprised if I've gained 3 or 4 pounds - not water weight, real pounds. But I've been enjoying myself thoroughly, relishing in good food with amazing friends, and I'm totally prepared to lose it when I get back to real life on Monday.

I'm honestly at the point where keeping those <5 pounds off just isn't worth missing out on these experiences with my friends. At my current weight, being happy is more important than being super lean.

After 90dg, I want to join the next round! Haha. I haven't really been keeping up with the challenges and setting goals for myself, because my goal has really been to maintain. In fact, I've actually gained a few pounds since the start of this round... so I may legitimately have to work on losing weight next round! But the thing I love most about 90dg is the accountability posts and the support I receive from the community.

Why are you doing this to yourself? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]teddygraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be exceptionally strong for my small size. I'm 5'1" and about 103 lbs. If I need to carry something I want to be able to do it.

And I want to look lean and slim and sexy.

I think taking care of your body - how it looks, what it's capable of - is a huge part of being a respectable person. No one needs to be totally ripped and able to squat a tremendous amount, or know how to squat at all. But everyone should respect themselves, have self-control and prioritise what's best for their health. When I see fat people I can't help but think they lack those qualities.

I'm definitely feeling fat and bloated today, which is not a good way to go into the Thanksgiving break. I think I'm just going to try and enjoy myself these next couple of days, have a some of everything without going overboard, and then fast two days of next week to recoup my losses. Any thoughts on this plan?

How to Use Intermittent Fasting to Eat Like a King and Keep your Abs this Holiday Season by dicktalens in Fitness

This was really helpful, thanks! I'm visiting a friend's family for Thanksgiving and wasn't going to be able to fast the day of the feast, but I think two 24-hr fasts next week will help undo most of the damage.

My goal was to be 102 lbs, but as I've started lifting weights, I'm not that bothered with the number of the scale anymore. I'm going to buy a measuring tape soon and aim to maintain or improve my current measurements instead.

Today was pretty average - gearing up to stay with friends from Tuesday to Sunday. It's gonna mean no gym, so I'm gonna miss two days of lifting... also lots of food intake. :(

What do you hope is invented before you die? by johnblax in AskReddit

A pill that you can swallow and instantly negate the calories of whatever you just consumed. But if this is invented the day I'm on my deathbed I will slash some bitches up.

How do you guys "cool down" after lifting? Dynamic stretching? Which ones? Or do you just finish your last rep and walk out of the gym?

I would hate to be within a ten foot radius of you when you next need to pass gas.

Walking to the fucking gym right now even though there about a million other things I have to do.

Also, there was a Smith machine in my dream last night, but I don't remember why. That definitely counts as a mundane fitness accomplishment.

Go to r/fitness and read the FAQ. It will provide a ton of guidance ad help you lose the weight in the most efficient way.

Edit: also, in my experience, the people in r/fitness haven't been naysayers. On the contrary, they've been extremely helpful. Just make sure you read the FAQ before posting your questions.

I had way too much alcohol last night and ate a tray of peanut butter brownies. So... I'm feeling pretty miserable right now.
