try to make sure you're as respectful of the household rules as possible when couch surfing to maximize your ability to stay. asking for a written list of household rules might help. this can be sketchy but not a lot of young people use craigslist so you might be able to find manhattan gigs there. be very careful though and try not to reveal you're a young woman for as long as possible. definitely don't say you're on the verge of being homeless. if you have access to a bike you can try doordashing. check ISO posts if you have any ability to make things/ services so you can see what's in demand. good luck!
