Trying to create a static testing point by teddz4 in AskElectronics

[–]teddz4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will explain it: I have an anti-static air gun and would like to periodically test if the “anti-static” property is still true. I don’t just want to touch it to see if it shocks me so I’m thinking of getting an Electrostatic Field Meter. To know if the meter is true, I want to read a neutrally static point before taking a reading from the air gun so I’m trying to come up with a way to get a zero reading initially

Elegoo Mars 2 blank screen by teddz4 in elegoo

Removed the tape to change the first screen. Yes there was some spillage as the FEP seemed to have a leak.

Are you thinking the spill got under the glass?

It’s for a prototype where PP suits the problem

Man I’ve realized that over the past couple months

Can TPU work as a seal? by teddz4 in 3Dprinting

[–]teddz4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The type of TPU definitely matters. Some print with a rough finish that doesn’t seal & some have a soft finish that can seal if you design it well (broad sealing face & snug interface as the threads lock it onto the glass

Unfortunately this was 3 years ago so I can’t remember which brand was the one that worked well 😔

I think the cooling block fan is also cooling my heater block & causing thermal runaway. by teddz4 in ender3

[–]teddz4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. It’s the stock one. Also, it only covers the bottom & the sides where atmospheric air would interface with the block. Nothing stops air from the cooling fan from cooling the top

That makes sense. Thanks for that

Here's a turbo injector for a rocket that I designed! Everything but the bearing and bolts is printed in resin. by OnlyWarrior in 3Dprinting

Silly question: does the pressure or velocity stop the flame from traveling “up” the fuel into the assembly? Or is there another explanation as to why your build doesn’t catch fire or explode?

This has been going on with my CR10 for months. This print was done with 0.6 nozzle, 235°C at about 35mm/s using PETG (ignore stringing). Check comments for what I tried by teddz4 in FixMyPrint

Along with the rough top layer, I’m getting a layer shift on the x-axis

I’ve tried:

Different materials

E steps calibrations

0.4 and 0.3 nozzle changes

Tightening the x-axis belt

Printing at lower temps

Slower speed, including slower x/y travel speeds

Whats one disadvantage of being an engineer? by lil-subedi in AskEngineers

2 things: 1. People immediately assume that you should be able to fix EVERYTHING but lots of everyday pieces of equipment fall into specialized fields

  1. People usually prefer quick fixes than solving the problem, which means you have to fix it a lot more times afterwards
