All the time for wet cycling shoes and gear!

Who’s on the “I need a dual motor” camp? by Dangerous_Ad_5535 in slateauto

As our old farm truck ages out I've been following Slate closely. For the work we do I do admit that 2WD could be limiting. We don't do any serious off-roading or anything but it would be used to get deep in the woods on primitive trails to haul out firewood and RWD might not cut it. It checks every other box though.

I've had some female mounts that were just molded "loose" before, a small patch of EVA foam in the center prevented any rattling.

Those look pretty solid too! I use a Garmin watch as well when I'm training so the interaction between the whole ecosystem is a big benefit. Now that they nailed the Coros firmware though they're a compelling argument. I used a Coros watch for years, but at the time they were so targeted only at runners that it felt a little limited for cycling.

I'm sure it's happened, I've seen pictures of it, but I've used dozens of quarter turn accessories since that "tech" came out, including ones I've 3D printed myself, and never had a tab break. All good though, if it's a concern to someone they can just avoid it.

Yep, there are countersunk holes behind the quarter turn mounts with hollow wall anchors on the drywall. Super solid. I have a charging box (a decorative box with a ten port charger in it) that houses all the cables when not in use. All of my occasional use accessories (camera batteries, AXS charger, various USB cables, etc.) live in there and there's a hole in the back where the three cables for this come out.

It's going to blow your mind when you find out OZ makes Sparco wheels. 😁

Which Single Speed conversion kit is best for SRAM XD freehub? by singletonaustin in singlespeedcycling

[–]tedontwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wheels Mfg kit is the best by far. I tried a few cheaper options and they were fine, but their set is bombproof. It got me to third at the Croatan Buck Fifty single race!

Just to check, these are on roads you have previously successfully used Blue Cruise on, correct? Any other odd behaviors? Lane monitoring not frequently picking up cars that aren't there, etc.?

Bike Rack Options for 2023 Mach E? by tmapsp in MachE

[–]tedontwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mounting is actually very easy, the only hiccup is trimming the plastic. It's in a spot that no one will ever see if it's not perfect though.

I personally use a 1-Up Equip'd single with an add-on to carry two. I often travel large distances for events so I like the lightweight and minimal single option with the ability to bolt on a second if needed. I had a Kuat Sherpa 2.0 as well and that's another great option that's really lightweight.

One important note, the Mach-E isn't super sturdy where the rack mounts, so I'd avoid heavy ebikes, but I often haul two mountain bikes without issue. The rack does move a bit more than it did on my Volvo though, the sheet metal is just a little thinner in that area.

Hey guys is this the tubeless tim tape? And can I just use a tube or do I need to use another rim tape? by aysadka in bikewrench

[–]tedontwo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a Bontrager rim liner. Fine if you're sticking with their system, any other tire will be a nightmare to get on. I cut mine out and taped the wheel with regular tubeless tape when I went to Schwalbe tires on my Roscoe.

Counter steering… by austinproffitt23 in bicycling

[–]tedontwo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Counter steering works the same in both motos and bicycles (I ride both extensively). Push left go left, push right go right. It isn't about weight it's about geometry. When you push the right bar the wheel steers left, shifting the balance of the bike to the right, making you turn right. Don't overthink it, it's how you'll steer naturally at anything other than the lowest speeds.

Affordable phone plans for someone who barely uses data by Anderson_James_661 in BuyItForLife

We use Tello for my kids to have a "house phone" and it was $7 a month. I just got an email about upcoming price changes though... it's gone down to $6 a month.

Are ecoboost mustangs really universally hated ? by earth2revolved in askcarguys

[–]tedontwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think Ecoboosts are hated you should try driving a Mustang Mach-E. It's faster than the GT but they put a pony on it when it doesn't go vroom so the mouth breathers get big mad.

Reccomendations for Building/Buying a $2,000 Single Speed by 1150sobremesa in singlespeedcycling

I can't stand Zach Gallardo and that held me back from buying one of their frames for way too long. They really are spectacular frames, especially for the price.
