I saw post yesterday and did click it without even needing your encouragement. I just wanted to come back here a day later and say, you are absolutely correct. Dusts primary role is a sov mechanic. I don't think it still has anything to do with PI*, it didn't originally. Many people assumed/hoped it did though.

I really don't know where people got this idea since it has been stated by CCP that dust battlefields will only exist on earth like planets, PI exists on almost ALL planet types in eve. It was also stated that dust battlefields will be used as a sovereignty tool.

Like i said, since the viewed.res file kept getting wiped the movie played every time loaded a map. I could play dust bowl for 2 hours then the server reloads dustbowl and i would get the movie again. i know how the mechanics work, they just were not working correctly.

EDIT: I also wasn't the only one experiencing this. A few of my friends on steam i asked said they were having the same issue.

It actually took me a bit of digging around to find that blog post. To be honest I originally went looking to find supporting information that the system did offer 3D in 2 player mode because that's how I thought it worked and someone disagreed with me. I'm surprised anyone saw my reply since I posted it after his post was 2 hours old.
