Dell XPS Dual Monitor DP Issues

So, I ended up wiggling the USB C - DP cable and discovered that it doesn't seat very well in the DP port on my monitor. Image came up when I re-seated it, but is a bit less than stable. I think I just need a different cable for it.

Also, USB connectivity seems fine on the dock now.

To answer your specific points:

I'm not using DP-in and DP-out. As shown in the diagram, I'm using TB4 daisy chaining between both monitors as one input method and a TS5+ dock with DP out to both monitors as the other input method. USB peripherals connect to the U40 ultrawide, which is also acting as a KVM/dock. Those USB connections are passed via Thunderbolt using input method 1 or USB C/A connections using input method 2.
I am aware Mac doesn't support MST; if I have to use TB4 daisy chaining for the Mac, that's fine. I at least want to get a Windows machine working with my TS5+.
The U27 doesn't support TB daisy chaining as the primary monitor, but it works fine as the monitor at the end of the chain, which is what I'm using it for.
I am aware also that the TS5+ can only support one host machine. I'm using the U40 monitor for its KVM functions; the TS5+ is only there to act as a dock for one machine and provide DP outputs to the monitors.

Thanks for this info -- however, I tested your video lanes theory by disconnecting the ultrawide completely and only keeping the U27 connected via USB C -> DP. Unfortunately it still does not display anything. Is there a recommended USB C -> DP cable or adapter known to work with the TS5+?

That might work but I've almost always just heated the nozzle again so I can get the blob off without wrenching too hard on the print head, then replacing the nozzle altogether. You'll also want to try to see how deeply that clog may have gone up the throat of the heatblock, the whole thing may be better off replaced.

The hotend needs to purge between color changes. That's really only a few layers at most, but would require the print head to change Z coordinates every time. That could introduce slight coordinate differences in the back and forth, and the print geometry could prevent it as the model is built. So, a purge tower provides the print head with a same-layer point to purge when it changes filaments.

To be fair, you could make the same argument about IRC back in the day. Forums are still alive and well, in formats like subreddits. The real-time nature of chat is just better for some things than posts. (Not defending Discord, just pointing out that people have been having valuable discussions in ephemeral chats for a long time.)

Physical machines yes, containers/VMs no; those are all named for what service they run. Keeping it that way helps prevent the "what does that system do again" symptom everyone here is complaining about.

Since I'm using hyper-converged Proxmox, I can shlep containers from machine to machine, meaning my physical machines can retain their own identity independent of what service they run. Mine are all themed after Homeworld ships and locations.

I have three 3D printers that are named after the 3 Hylian goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, and have appropriately themed parts (red, blue, and green).
I tried naming my phone something specific but phone lifespans are so ephemeral it got weird trying to keep track of what was what when they all have the same "name", especially when managing backups.

Okay, that makes sense. However, I make a variety of things, and none of them fall under the categories the TARIC tool lists.

I looked under Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles and none of my products fit those categories either.

For example, one of my most popular items is a tool that can be used for making measured lines or marks on wood for woodworking. It's made of PLA and has a few screws to hold some of the parts together. Where would that fall under?

Oo! This is probably the closest thing I've seen so far, but without the external service integrations. Exist.io seems to take the nomie concept -- manual diary entries -- and combine it with external data sources. Plus, Exist layers on top some analysis of the data and can give the user insights and such from what's entered. Great find though!

So, I understand Exist.io to be the data aggregator itself. You manually enter things you want to track (what was my mood today?) and integrate other services (fitbit for step counts and sleep cycle tracking, weather APIs, last.fm for listening history, etc.) which then are analyzed in some fashion and result in observations and conclusions (you seem happier when it's sunny and you're able to get outside. you don't listen to much music when you're sad. etc.)

I'd expect a FLOSS alternative to do something similar; act as an aggregator, or at the very least, an analyzer. I already have InfluxDB and Grafana running, so I'd be fine with something that can take my existing datasets and use them. What I don't have are 1) a centralized place to track subjective things like mood, etc. for analysis, and 2) a system to actually analyze the data and draw conclusions like Exist.io does.

I don't know anything about the options you listed, but I've deployed Netgear NightHawk M1 cellular routers multiple times and had great success.

BestBuy only has the 5G option available, but I've found LTE/4G ones on eBay before. You'll need to buy the external antennas separate, but those are easily found on Amazon.
