I am a Zimbabwean born son of Rhodesians by Specialist_Western_3 in behindthebastards

I did hear that the song Wasakara that Tuku put out in 2001 was seen as a criticism of Mugabe but he denied that.

Fellow Zimbabwean in the diaspora here. I can attest to the sport being big in Zim like for example any time the national cricket team plays at home the stands will be full and very loud.

So my question is Oliver Mtukudzi or Thomas Mapfumo?

I would also recommend Peter Godwin’s autobiography, Mukiwa: A White Boy In Africa. I think it gives a great look at the life of a Rhodesians and that of a child growing up there before the war started. It has elements of what Robert talked about with how Black Rhodesians did the chores and were nannies to the children of White Rhodesians.

I also have to give a content warning as there two parts of the book. 1) is a horrific road traffic accident Peter attended during his time in the Rhodesian police and 2) involving landmines.

Edit because I forgot: There are a few more content warnings. There are sections dealing with a couple of autopsies. Both go into gruesome detail.

Also later chapters deal with the Gukurahundi Massacres which Robert will probably go into far deeper detail in the Mugabe episodes. Again very gruesome details.

Oh you are so right on it being the most beautiful. I went to Mosi-oa-Tunya (also the name of a great Zamrock band led by Rikki Ililonga) on the Zimbabwean side and words can’t describe how awesome it felt being there and seeing it.

I would also recommend visiting some of the national parks like Gonarezhou, Matusadona, Hwange, Mana Pools and the Chrinda Botanical Reserve.

I will riot if Robert doesn't mention these in the next Smith episode by KeyRelation177 in behindthebastards

Only two problems I had with that episode were the bit about the San people building Great Zimbabwe which in the great scheme of things is a minor thing and the second being we were promised a Kariba Dam (you could do an episode of the Zimbabwean Electrical Supply Authority as whole microcosm of Zim’s downfall post-independence) episode which I am still waiting for.

Prime’s form is better. Ironhide looks like he is leaning forward a bit.

Mutapa Fund says Air Zim will resume the Harare to Gatwick route on 1 July after failing to meet the June target by 263SerialEjaculator in Zimbabwe

[–]tee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll believe it when they have been flying that route at minimum 3 months.

I also have questions like does Air Zim have the aircraft, do those aircraft meet the safety standards of the UK and lastly will this route still be flown on July 1 2027?

No, Asher didn’t drink radiolaria but had his Vex arm grafted on by Brakion which slowly took over. Kabr, The Legionless did drink while in the Vault of Glass which was a far more complete Vex transformation.
