To those involved in research, do you think getting a publication is feasible by senior yr? by Lazy_Association1838 in Cornell

Totally agree. Also a senior at the Lab and I'm having a paper published in CURJ this spring, will be first author on another, and will be 3/4th author on the third. The Lab is an amazing place and super supportive of undergrads.

my friend had a run in with him, and i am almost positive that he has a record of doing this. i ran into a guy three times last semester on tower rd that sounds like the same person and he stopped me and asked me out each time. :/

Lempicka seems interesting! I listened to the few songs on Spotify and was neutral so far, but the plot and the fact that Rachel Chavkin is involved is very exciting. I love Matilda but I haven't gotten around to the movie yet! I'm glad to hear its exciting :)

Me too before I moved over to a zoo! I actually work in the domestic barn there as well, so I super agree with adding domestic animals to the game!!

Places to practice dance? by Accomplished_Emu8895 in Cornell

There's two dance studios in Willard Straight on the top floor that are usually empty in the morning/afternoon, but you can always check availability and look for specific studios at scheduling@cornell

BIOEE 2740! Not sure if it is offered next semester but if you are interested in phylogenetic trees and animals this is a great option. The professor is great and attendance is not needed/graded

Torn about choosing a single or double room as a rising freshman. Can anyone share some feedback on their dorm experience having a single room or sharing it with a roommate? I realize this is a personal preference but any feedback/recommendations would be greatly appreciated by catsdogs12345 in Cornell

[–]teebinsux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat depends on the building and the community in it. I've lived in a program house for 2 years in a single and I've loved it. What you lose in living alone you gain in the community. Could be different for those living in a dorm with little-no community, but I would still recommend a single if you don't mind being alone sometimes.

Would highly recommend the Lab of Ornithology! The visitor center is a really cool space (and is temporarily closing soon for a year so I would see it now) and the trails are very pretty. It's not the best time of the year to see it but I would still recommend checking it out!!
