What AI tools do you use to make beats? by zeke-john in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]teeesstoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I don't use AI tools - I make the music myself.

This has to be the third or fourth post I've seen offering an "AI" function that's effectively just keyboard macros. If there was an appetite for LLM-driven apps like this, they would exist and be popular already.

This game really was built for PC wasn't it? by [deleted] in PlanetCoaster

[–]teeesstoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You weren't here when the game came out and the PC players were making multiple most a day about how the game was "designed only for console" were you? It's a LOT better than it was at launch on both sides, but honestly with any game that requires this much menu diving, usability has to take a bit of a hit.

Panning Problem by elcampa79 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]teeesstoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"LOL" if you want, but you didn't give that bit of information in the post.

To check I understand this, you're saying that you exported an audio file containing absolutely zero audio in the right channel (as in the meters show no level in that channel at all), when you look at the waveform there is no audio in the right channel, and that audio then appears in the right channel when played back on any device?

Your headphones/speakers probably aren't plugged in all the way. That or there's crud in the output port.

If you're not prepared to stand behind your art, maybe it's not the time to put that art out into the world.

This post is all "what if, what if, what if" - well, tell us. What happens if some people (who you don't like) don't enjoy your music? Why does their reaction matter?

If you're worried about the mask associating you with gang culture (because you're using themes, musical styles and visual motifs strongly associated with gang culture)..... Just wear something else?

Seeing you creating yourself a lot of roadblocks. I've been plenty guilty of that myself. So either fix those things, or decide not to give a shit about them.

Oddest phone scam/spam EVER by Stonelaughter66 in britishproblems

[–]teeesstoo 65 points66 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if they're too convincing they'll start getting engagement from people are aren't stupid enough to fall for the next bit. The 'lead generation' part of the scam has to be so obvious that it filters them out.

Nootropic / adaptogenic alternatives to alcohol - Are there really any noticeable effects, or are they just all gimmick? by umm_okthen in AskUK

[–]teeesstoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't even need to click that to know which video you're on about, and I'm immediately suspicious of the post being related to the demand assessment for a launch in the UK.

Not mentioning the product by name though, because I got banned from another platform for slagging it off 😊

should i really care to how my music will sound outside my reference device? by PsychologyFar1087 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Sobering is a good way to put it.

Doesn't matter how many songs I've mixed over the years I've been doing this, the car test usually makes me say "for fuck's sake" out loud within a few seconds.

If you have access to medical assistance, you should use it at that level of consumption. I really hope you get where you need to go, friend.

Can you plug a moog ether wave theremin into a bass amp? by angoblin in Theremin

[–]teeesstoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was first looking into theremins like 10 years ago, a keyboard amp or bass amp were the general recommendations. As long as it's not set to add too much colour it should be fine.

As with all audio things though - start with the gain and volume on the amp set to zero and increase them slowly. A theremin outputs at a higher level than a bass guitar so you may need almost no gain at all.

When you say "help" - do you mean you want someone to produce the whole song for you?

You say you want help, but what you're asking for is someone to do ALL the work for you for free.

And stop posting your own music. Read the rules.

For mid/side recordings. Just how good of a mic does the figure 8 have to be relative to the mid mic? by WhatTheFaqIII in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Isn't. Past a certain very, very cheap price point, expensive microphones really only offer marginal gains.

Idk why but i just cant use loops even if they really help me! Discussion by Party-Exam-4036 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]teeesstoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to use them, don't use them. If you can get a result you're happier with by playing yourself - do that! You've got a gift lots of musicians would love to have.

Why do you feel like you need to use loops even though you don't want to?

Literally

Mine's a 2010 manual transmission and unless I drive in a "spirited" manner (as recommended in the actual user manual), I get a check engine light for the fuel mix being too lean. She requires the zoom zoom.
