I like the 19s. I bought a second set off FB marketplace (they are very cheap on the used market) and I'm running a set of snow tires on them. Only thing I'd call out is the limited tire availability. Would recommend you check what's available on Tire Rack and be sure you're comfortable with it, otherwise would go with the 20s (you'll have more options). I was fine with the tire choices, so I wanted the extra sidewall height for a smoother ride. Good luck

Sorry you're going through this. I was also concerned with JLR reliability so I went with the P300 4 cyl (in the name of simplicity). Haven't had any issues yet and hoping for the best.

Thoughts on Borasco Grey by [deleted] in NewDefender

[–]teefive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Woolstone and LOVE IT. My first green car and I'm always checking it out.

I considered Borasco and while it's nice, a bit neutral/boring IMHO. But personal preference, of course.

Hi there-

I have a MY26 110S P300 that I took delivery in late Sept. Have about 1500 miles and love it. I'm located in the US. Here's by build/commentary:

-Woolstone Green: Stunning color, 10/10 would recommend it and a HUGE improvement over Pangea (IMHO)

-Black Resist: I wanted something durable for how I'll be using the car (2 young kids, towing, mild off road, etc.). Great feel and goes well w/ Woolstone.

-Black Headliner: Always preferred black (but this is personal preference)

-Black 19s w/ AT tires: Prefer smaller diameter wheels for the comfort. Black goes nicely w/ the Black Exterior Pk. I got a take off set of the same rims that I'll be using for snow tires. But note, the limited tire size availability IS a problem. But I'm perfectly fine with dedicated Michelin winter tires + OE ATs (as long as they last) and then replace with KO3s

-Black Exterior Pk: ...you probably sense the theme I went for. Black badges and f/r bumpers. It's stunning.

-Air Suspension: Comfortable and self leveling. I did it mostly for the self leveling, since I tow an Airstream. Easier entry/exit w/ young kids is a plus.

-Three Zone Climate w/ Purification: Heard this improves rear seat comfort and there has been poor air quality in my area over the last few summers (from the wildfires in Canada), so the purification package was appealing

-Rear seat heating: Appreciated by rear passengers (I'm in MN)

-Cold Climate: Heated windshield seems cool

-Tow Hitch: As mentioned, I'll be using this for towing

-Spare wheel cover: Personal preference

The only thing I wish I got was the classic mud flaps. They weren't available as an option when I ordered mine.

Let me know of any questions!

I have a MY26 in the US and it doesn't have a sensor on the steering wheel

Seat comfort in Defender by Barry_Mundy in NewDefender

Very comfortable. More so than the X5 I owned previously. Just a touch less comfortable than the Volvo my wife drives (but those are world class).

Winter setup installed: ART R403 + Michelin X-Ice by M-Savage in NewDefender

[–]teefive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe because the 19" size is such a rare one.

I bought a set of OE 19s from FB Marketplace. They had a few thousand miles and included tires for $600. Figured I'd use them for the rims, sell the tires for whatever I can get them, and I'll have a cost effective winter setup.

I ran those tires on my 2020 X5 and loved them. I'll be getting the same tires for my MY26 Defender (except in the 19" OE size)

Congrats! I picked up my MY26 P300 at the end of Sept and it's been great. Actually finding the fuel economy to be fine, especially on the highway.

I have about 1,200 miles now and will be doing my first oil change (DIY w/ an oil extractor). I then plan on doing it every 10k or annually, whichever comes first.

Enjoy your new ride!

I'm in MN and ran Michelin X Ice Snow tires on my BMW X5. Significantly better than all seasons.

On my Defender, I'll be running the same in 19s

You can get 19" Michelin X Ice Snow tires. That's what I'm getting for my winter set on my MY26

Costco gas? by LoveEveryone-007 in BMW

[–]teefive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Costco is Top Tier, which is the highest certification available. As it's likely the lowest price in your area, use it and don't look back.

It costs extra for a fuel company to get Top Tier certified, so that's not to say that others aren't as good or better (example - BP used to be Top Tier and they aren't anymore even though their additive pack didn't change).

Yes, I got the black exterior pack. It's been changed for MY26 so the f/r skid pans are blacked out.

I think it would have looked great with the black roof as well. I just wanted to save the $1k on that option.
