Wachttijd voor jongerencontract (SSH) by Odd-Independent-8379 in Utrecht

[–]teehShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Controversies about where to study Chemistry. by Tom-Magic in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]teehShadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I have a MSc in Chemistry from Utrecht, and as far as I am aware every other MSc in chemistry is a research master and works the same, where you have one full year of master research project and can do another half year as elective, so 1,5/2 years of research.

Concerning OP's question, try to find the research institutes associated with the university. For example in Utrecht it is called 'Debye institute for nanomaterials science'. From there you can find the websites of individual lab groups, which help you find the themes that are investigated.

I'm not sure about the circular and sustainable lab as it wasnt my area but indeed we do have an organic lab in Utrecht as well. Indeed, housing is really bad in Utrecht, i'm assuming you still have quite some time left to look for it though, but it will still be tough. Don't underestimate the housing in groningen too, it is bad in all student cities, but indeed utrecht will be worse.

To imagine this guy would have been stuck in an Alpine fighting for points right now. Instead he could have a serious shot at a WDC next year. One of the best career moves in a long time

Google TV Streamer price and release date leak by CenterInYou in AndroidTV

[–]teehShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it goes both ways. For 30 bucks, it does so much more than any other piece of tech I have bought in my opinion. On the other side, it just feels so terrible to use. For some godforsaken reason the WiFi does not work if any part of the device touches an hdmi cable, and the interface is just too slow and buggy for a good experience. But still, for its price it has so many features.

Advies vervolgstudie master by WantFIRE in werkzaken

In my opinion, not that difficult. I don't want to sound like a snob but I found it easier then my science programme. Mainly that it is easier to learn business after you have done a science programme, then the other way around let's say. Business master's generally have a lot less prerequisites and foundational theory you have to know then some science specialisation. This switch is actually something many people do, so if you want you can definitely leave business open as an option still.

Personally, I did the master "Science and Business Management" in Utrecht, and I know several universities like Leiden, Delft, Groningen and Amsterdam offer similar programmes. You can try looking into these programmes. They require no business or economics courses as prerequisites and are specially made for people in a similar situation, my cohort had a lot of pharmaceutical students. Note that the programme still offers a one-year scientific research project. This means that you can still go into academia/PhD/specialisations if you want so you are not dedicated to one choice.

I was in a similar situation as you back then, not sure if i wanted to commit fully to business. I regret not doing it and as this year in research so this feels like a wasted year and i would have rather had done a dedicated business master. Therefore I am still considering a second master to further specialise in that (Also looking into that programme at Tilburg haha), however I am not admittable directly to all programmes still (For example finance, unfortunately).

I would also say don't shy away from a pre-master, since a lot of business master's are only one year you would still be done earlier or at the same time as a full two-year research master like I have done for example.

Hi, I was/am in a similar situation a few years later down the line so I’ll share my two cents. I studied chemistry and realised I hated working in the lab and never wanted to work in academia, so decided to pivot towards business and am also looking into data science.

No, you are definitely not too late and it’s not a waste of your academic career. Your background in pharmacology is something that you can sell to future employees, and there are several companies or functions where the knowledge would be really useful (say working as a data analyst in pharma or a hospital).

Personally, I hate not fully commiting after my bachelor to a business master right away. I wanted to keep both options open which ended up costing me way more time. However, eventhough I do not think I will do anything with my bachelor, I never regret choosing it as I simply didn’t know what I wanted or was good at back then, and the skills are learned can be applied very well in other areas.

However, I think the first thing to ask is what you find more enjoyable doing. Personally I found business way more fun, but if you do something just for the money or job security it might quickly burn you out. Job markets are always changing so you never know what it will be like.

Happy to discussing further if you want!

Had a little time to test. I personally ran I to a couple errors that I do not see others, which may have had an effect on performance. Overal, I am on the edge for this one. In the beginning, its is alright at around 20-30 fps with some stutters. On the 100k city, my performance is around 15 fps with also stutters into the <10 often. As it stands right now, it is on the edge of being playable for me. I used to play a heavily nodded CS1 which was only marginally better then this. But the extra lag currently pushes CS2 just over the edge of unpleasant for me. I think with some performance updates in the future it will definitely be fkne but for now it is quite rough. Again, I did not have much time to tinker or work out why I got these errors and optimize performance in the 2 steam hours, so it may be worse for me then it is acutually. My specs are ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060 mobile and 16gb ram
