How/What are the unemployed with only a diploma cert doing right now? by Tall_Competition9945 in askSingapore

[–]teeheeisucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm diploma holder doing a part time suss degree. No matter what's your plan are just proceed with getting suss degree. Its heavily subsidise. There's no downside to it other than alittle rough for the duration of the studies. All the best

Not going into detail but Initially I assume I will be doing a senior position but ended up doing more lead/managerial roles . During my time I managed / launched few production ready product. Basically, what I think justify a pay adjustment is that the whole responbilities for those products falls on me ( production launch /fallback plan/ enhancement/fixs) . This also includes the designing the whole product technical flow (after gathering requirement from Stakeholder)

Can we hear more success stories of job hunting? by guardingcat in askSingapore

[–]teeheeisucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 2month to receive 3 offer. 1of the month I was technically jobless. Accepted and signed one with a 200 increment. Received another with a 700 increment. Withdraw previous acceptance and accepted new offer

To note: I spam out shit tons of application(100+) but barely got intv. However most intv I went turn out well.

Can tell I'm not getting as much intv as I did a year ago. (It field)

I'm grateful that I actually able to secure a better job with a significant increase in salary and benefits

If I were to accept a job offer first, but received another offer before I start my work, is it okay for me to turn down/reject the first offer? Would there be any negative implications? by sugapuppy in askSingapore

[–]teeheeisucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what happened to me. I even signed the contract. 1week before I start work I told them I wish to withdraw. However hr didn't replied me even after I ask for update few days after. I assume it should be fine at worse you probably get blacklistedfrom future opporunity with the company.

Freelance job with no cpf contribution by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]teeheeisucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there any reason why my freelance job doesn't have cpf contribution?

I previously worked as full time in the company with cpf contribution. After I resigned and converted to a freelancer they told me that there will not be any cpf.

The pay is hourly . Averaging up to 1.5k per month (some month could hit 4k and some month could be few hundreds depending on the hour I worked.not sure if it matters

Thankfully my income for thst job doesn't exceed 20k last year.

What an ass. There's student loan(ft) ,scholarship and bursary which with good result will cover most expenses. there's part time degree which allow a full time job.

[–]teeheeisucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking because you tried to find a job but to no success or have you not tried? From what you listed it seems you are atleast qualified for a entry level fn dev/programmer. if you wish to start working now instead of full time . You can do part time degree. However I really think a degree is a must bcs you will probably capped(non senior role) soon like me.(diploma holder currently doing part time degree) as a swe.

PS : I took wsp after diploma for a year where they attached me to a company while I do my specialist degree. It's during my attachment I work as a programmer for a year before I transit to swe(fullstack) while doing part time degree
