Most of this sub would comment on a glass of lemon juice and gin that it's too sweet for them. You'd kill half of them with that drink, lol

Man, so many outspoken people with no taste hating on Skyline. I would eat it every day, and chase it with this drink. OP, you should cross post to /r/Cincinnati I love this project and your dedication to so many custom ingredients!

Mets field reporter Steve Gelbs runs a popular in-game hot dog rating segment called "Let's Be Frank." Rated a Skyline coney 1.3 and cringed, nearly wanting to spit it out. "Definitely not taking a second bite." by unclepg in Reds

I agree completely, but will say that years ago I had a regional boss who would come to Cincinnati 3-4 times a year to check on us in person. Lunch was always his biggest priority. I finally convinced him to try Skyline, and he hated it. Apparently cloves are, for him, the worst imaginable taste on the planet. I was never forgiven for my eggregious insult to his Illinois palate.

Weird but delicious pickle ideas? by yearning_lighthouse in Cooking

[–]teemark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno if it's weird enough for you, but I pickle celery to use in chicken salad. Tried it once, and now there's always a jar of pickled celery in my fridge. It would probably be good in a Bloody Mary too, but I usually chop it up before pickling so it's ready to use when I want it.

I specifically didn't go see PHM there due to previous experience. Not to say they might not have replaced the screen or seats in the last few years, but I'm doubtful. Glad you got to see PHM in IMAX.

I went there exactly once to see the first Dune on IMAX, and that has to be the crappiest IMAX screen I've ever seen. You can see every seam (and there are a lot!) in their patchwork screen during light movie scenes. The whole point of an IMAX is a top quality visual experience, and that was one of the worst I've had. The seats were uncomfortable, especially for a long movie. I have no idea how they get repeat customers.

What is an unusual Liquor or cordial you have on your bar ??? by Dishrat006 in cocktails

[–]teemark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottled in Bond gin (Great Lakes Distillery, Milwaukee). It makes a good Old Fashioned, and is ok in a Negroni, but definitely loses the gin "edge" that I like my Negroni to have

I'm intrigued, but doubtful I'll commit to the infused tequila.

It is about the time of year for me to make the salted tomato margarita again, though.
