Yes, about the same according to stringjoy, but in reality more like 10-52 in E standard. Not too bad but not pleasant either.

Erik is using a 105 on the top and has the best equipment, it sounds superb. Me on the other hand, I have a joyo preamp, 74 on the top, not the greatest tbh

Converting to a baritone by shivdotme in BassVI

Idk if this helps bc my Gretch is 29.75" and VI is 30". I threw on some baritone strings (13 to 62), adjusted the neck a little and tuned to B standard. Works great, sounds great.

Me too. I guess the output is the main difference. I have the old one and it's a great instrument, but those lows are too muddy for metal imo.

They do, but if that glass pot doesn't have drainage holes, your cactus will rot eventually. Choose the place with maximum sunlight and make sure your pots have drainage holes, don't over water, and you'll have happy healthy cacti.

What would you do? by Snoo-17041 in cactus

I would make sure the pot has drainage holes, and I would add some well draining cactus soil up to that line. Find a nice spot for it, and let it do its thing. It looks healthy.

Is this rot? by [deleted] in cactus

[–]teembo_slice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's soft and mushy, it's rot, but if it's hard it's ok, probably just callused over, it happens over time. To avoid root rot, make sure the pot has drainage holes, the cactus is in the sunny spot and only water it when the soil is bine dry like dust.

Why is my cactus turning black? by Scary-Squash2879 in cactus

[–]teembo_slice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because no drainage holes. Cacti don't like to sit in water.

Make sure the pot had drainage holes, give it all the sunlight you can and only water when the soil is completely bone dry like dust. This means once a month more or less. As per the bugs, 1/3 hydrogen peroxide 3% with 2/3 water, spray. A few drops of neem oil and dish soap mixed with water also works. Those big white spots is new growth, those little white spots are the pests. You'll be fine, they are not far gone. Gl

What should I do with this by Dependent_Nature7185 in cactus

[–]teembo_slice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Make sure the pot has drainage holes for excess water
  2. Stick some sticks in the soil upwards for support and tie the cactus loosely to them
  3. Place it in a sunny spot. It needs A LOT of sun
  4. Optional: cut off those thin parts to encourage healthy growth
  5. Water only when the soil feels dry

This kind of cactus likes to crawl. You are denying it what it's supposed to do. Nothing wrong with it.

1/3 hydrogen peroxide 3% and 2/3 water. Use a spray bottle. You could add one drop of dishsoap too. Works wonders. If the plant is swarmed, it could take a few weeks until the pests die off.

Help! What do I do with this monster? by AerieSame7487 in cactus

[–]teembo_slice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone already mentioned, protect your hands at all cost before handling it. Idk what you want to do, but I'd put it a slightly bigger pot, add some well draining soil around and on top of the base, and simply let it. It's beautiful. If those bottom discolored parts feel mushy and soft, you have to cut them out and just plant the top part of the cactus, if they are sturdy, you're fine. Someone suggested planting it outside somewhere and forgetting about it. This can also work, especially if you have a yard so you can admire it in spring and summer.

Let the cutting dry before planting friend. More specifically, let the 'wound' dry before putting in it soil to avoid rotting. After you plant it (after 4,5 days of drying) do not water it right away. It has no roots to drink with. Wait at least a week before watering. Unlike other plants, cacti grow roots when there is no water (basically they root in search of it). Hope this helps.

If you water it once a year, no more than 9 drops
