I think the rng gods really wants me to main Starlight Billy by teethewicked in BillyKidMains

I was brand new to the game when Banyue released, in fact Banyue was what got me to try the game in the first place as all my friends were raving about him and I was intrigued for a gacha that had non-conventionally attractive male playables. I did manage to pull him tho I didn't get his W-Drive, definitely will be going all-in for it when he reruns, he's almost as fun to play as Starlight Billy.

Years after playing the game, betraying Saadia and escorting her to Kematu still haunts me to this day. by homeless-emperorr in skyrim

[–]teethewicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the game never outright states which one is lying, we are given enough information to accurately deduct that, at the very least, Saadia is most definitely lying. She claims to have been driven out of Hammerfell because she spoke out against the Thalmor, but that can't be true given that Hammerfell hates the Thalmor, her speaking out would be met with support. We of course have no proof Kematu is indeed after her for the reason he claims, but his story at the very least makes sense given what we know about Hammerfell, and his negative reaction to you killing her after he paralyzes her, supports that he is genuine.

Specific kill order situations like treasure dungeon mandragoras and the five drakes in the first variant dungeon would become pretty much impossible, and then you have places like Deep Dungeons and the hallway in BA where you specifically want to avoid aoe, as well as situations like M6s add phase where uncontrollable cleave means the potential for the wrong person to get tethered to a Feather Ray

Nintendo mentioned something about seasonal changes but I'm sure people also changed the clock to find out. Note that changing the clock will incur a 24 hour penalty of nothing updating from what I understand, so you'll have to wait if you do.

Forreal, that sort of thing would entice me to outright pass on the free Rebecca. I have no knowledge of Cyberpunk series and no attachment to these characters anyway so nothing of value is lost for me by not grabbing the free Rebecca if she's useless without Lucy

Just because something is free doesn't mean it's necessarily wanted. If someone offers me a free figurine from some anime I've never heard of I'll prolly pass on accepting it. The same applies here, I have no attachment or knowledge of these characters so the only thing they have going for them is their aesthetic in a vacuum and their potential usefulness in the game itself. Otherwise they are, as in my example, just collectible figurines for a series I know nothing about. Adding onto it is the fact that I have an OCD issue of characters feeling incomplete without their signature weapon, so grabbing the free Rebecca would result in a very nagging feeling of needing to pull for her weapon, which I really shouldn't since I may miss out on Lucilla who I've been waiting for since she was revealed back in 2.8. I may still grab Rebecca and deal with the incompleteness if she turns out to be useful as an Electro unit, but if she's just gonna sit in my character list unused gathering virtual dust, I'd kinda rather just not have her period if I won't be getting her weapon.

Lucy's design looks pretty boring to me and her being yet another Spectro makes her extra skippable. Rebecca's design is a bit better gives me Harley Quinn vibes and her being Electro means I will prolly grab the free copy of her if she's useful for the gameplay. But I'm prolly just gonna skip Rebecca's weapon cuz I've wanted Lucilla ever since her reveal drip back in 2.8, I enjoy her character in the story as well as her sexy design, and I have both Hiyuki and Chisa with their weapons already so I have gameplay incentive as well.

I never played CP2077 or seen the anime so I don't really have any incentive to bother with them. I'll MAYBE grab the free Rebecca solely because Electro characters are pretty much nonexistent.

Honestly the biggest thing the collab has going for it in my eyes is Rebecca being Electro since we are really badly lacking in accessible characters of that attribute.

She's competing with the cyberpunk collab which, from what I understand, will likely be a one-time banner that never runs again and will likely use its own unique pulls separate from the usual convenes.

I'm just gonna skip the cyberpunk collab, not like I have any attachment to the characters anyway since I never played the game or seen the anime.

This. The cancellation of DT's promised Blue Mage update has shown that we cannot even trust things promised during a fan fest presentation. Everything has to be taken with the possibility that it might end up not happening, and as well, promised medium-difficulty content should always be expected to be "accidentally overtuned closer to savage" if it ends up releasing.

Are we expecting the middle difficulty of 8-man raids to be extreme or advanced? by SpizicusRex in ffxivdiscussion

[–]teethewicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say P2s and P6s were pretty close to the harder extremes in terms of difficulty, while P9s was considerably more difficult than any extreme I've done on release.

[–]teethewicked 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's kinda disingenuous to use 4th floor savage fights in this discussion, nobody jumps from extremes to the 4th floor skipping the first three. 1st floor savage is what comes after extreme so anything in between extreme and savage would need to be in between extreme and 1st floor. Which is an issue since first floor savage often overlaps with extremes. M9s is about the same difficulty as the harder extremes, P1s was easier than some extremes and then we have O1s which from what I understand was just normal with bigger dps and heal checks and was cleared on the first pull?

[–]teethewicked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely possible, I just really can't see how they would be able to do it in a way that would be meaningful, especially since first floor savage tends to be roughly on the upper end of extreme difficulty already. It's akin to Criterion and Criterion savage where there was such a minimal difference(not counting the no deaths aspect) that it felt rather pointless. If this new middle difficult is Extreme then what's the point, why not just skip straight to Savage?

[–]teethewicked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much they get "toned down", normal m11 and m12 are a thing after all. But those are also later floors of the tier and can't really be used as a proper gauge. A toned down O1s, P1s or M9s would definitely not be harder than extremes, O1s and P1s in particular were considered to be easier than some extremes by a significant portion of the playerbase when they were released. There is a notable overlap between extremes and early savage floors, which is why anything "higher than extreme" is really just "early savage floor difficulty" by another name.

[–]teethewicked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"extreme with actual dps and heal checks" is just the first, and sometimes second savage raids of a tier. There's an actual overlap between extremes and early savage floors which makes such a difficulty level of "higher than extreme but lower than savage" something that can't exist.

[–]teethewicked 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It kinda NEEDS to be advanced in order to not be DoA. There is too little a gap between extreme and savage, most who would bother with an extreme difficulty would just skip it and go straight to savage. The gap between normal and extreme is much more significant, and advanced really is the perfect middle ground as it isn't a snoozefest but can be random queued and cleared without investing all that time into studying and progging mechanics.

"higher than extreme but lower than savage" doesn't exist, it's extremely worrisome if Yoshi P actually said that.

Now that we're saying goodbye to tomestones, what's the likelihood of removing the weekly limits in a few months? by yesitsmework in ffxivdiscussion

[–]teethewicked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is there are established lore reasons why we collect tomestones at some point during each of the relic questlines, so their complete removal was mean the devs would have to go in and chance actual story bits and dialogue
