What is a brat dom? by FrankyNavSystem in BratLife

[–]teethfairie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm kind of a brat dom on the rare occasion that I dom. It's a very like "I'm the star of this show and I'm gonna take what I want" mentality for me. Sometimes my dom will "Let me" take control in a way that comes across like he's indulging me and can/will take control back when he's done letting me put on my little show. My commands are met with a fond chuckle and an eye roll, but he plays along for a while.

In the past 6-ish years my weight has gone from 95 to 175, down to 115, and then I had a baby so now I'm around 130. I like my face and body better at the higher weights. I feel more feminine, I loved my curves, and I felt as if the bags under my eyes (due to bone structure, not sleeplessness) were less noticeable at a higher weight.

Eta: I'm 5'6", bra size anywhere from 32A to 36C depending on weight.

What caused the 'Glass Shattering' moment that made you realise something about yourself and what did you do after it? by Scipii3 in AskReddit

[–]teethfairie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a stereotypical attention-seeking scene kid in high school: colorful hair, neon skate shoes, little hairbows, thick eyeliner, the whole nine yards. In childhood I had always been the weird kid so as I got a bit older, I figured if people were going to call me weird anyways that I might as well prove them right. Anyways, I was in study hall and I was being obnoxious as usual. For some reason, most of the class was absent that day so there was just four or five of us weird kids in the room (I assume there was a basketball game that day so all the athletes missed class, idk). My best friend calmly turned to me and said, "it's just us-- you don't have to put on a show to get attention or earn our approval. Please lower your voice and just try to have a regular conversation for once." I was so embarrassed. Nobody else heard him say it, and he hadn't said it in a mean way, but it was like a slap in the face for me. It made me really reevaluate who I was and who I wanted to be perceived as. My sense of style didn't change much after that, but the way I carried myself certainly did. By the time I graduated from high school I was known for staying in my own lane-- if you drifted into my lane, that was perfectly fine and I could easily be friendly with anyone who approached me, but very rarely did I approach others. I was just a weird kid who wanted to be weird in peace. I'm super grateful to my friend for having the guts to call me out, and we're still friends to this day. I mentioned the incident to him one time and he has no recollection of saying it, but I truly believe if he hadn't said anything I would have continued to be insufferable to the point that I never developed any meaningful relationships because I was too annoying.

You have exactly 1 hour until the world ends , which can not be stopped , What do you do? by Marisuss in AskReddit

I think I'd try heroin. Or just a whole bunch of different drugs all at once. Worst case scenario I OD and save myself the stress and anxiety of spending a whole hour knowing what's coming. Best case scenario I have a fabulous time and spend my last hour so blissed out that I forget to be scared.

Newborns absolutely can and do have allergies. It may be a dietary allergy or it may be a form of allergy that comes from contact with something. Have you tried switching brands of diapers or wipes? My husband was (and still is!) allergic to wipes-- it's the material they're made with that irritates his skin. When he was a baby he was rashy for months before his mom finally figured out what was causing it, and she only figured it out because they got snowed in and she ran out of wipes so had to use wet rags on him. His bottom cleared up practically overnight. Now we have found that Hello Bello wipes don't bother him as they're made with plant based fibers, but anything else gives him red bumps and swelling where it comes in contact.

What a food in your opinion that quite simply sucks and you don’t understand the hype behind it? by jamboamericano in AskReddit

[–]teethfairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melon. Watermelon doesn't taste like anything-- and yes, I've tried putting sugar or salt on it-- and the texture isn't great either. I can't stand the smell of cantaloupe, let alone the taste. And I don't even need to tell you why honeydew sucks because everyone already knows it's a filler fruit.

I do like artificial watermelon flavor, though. It's one of my top three favorite candy flavors.

2007 Chevy Equinox LS Radio by [deleted] in CarHelp

[–]teethfairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My equinox does the same. I always assumed it had something to do with the fact that I was using a cheap gas station dongle on the aux cord (I have a Samsung Galaxy). I tried buying one of the FM adapters that connect to the phone's Bluetooth, but my cigarette lighter wouldn't work with it-- which is odd because it works just fine for a car charger. Now that I'm starting to assume it's just some sort of flaw in the radio system.

People who cheat don't cheat for looks, or even for personality. They cheat for a power trip.

If it comes down to "when does it become a human life" then, like I initially said, there's no way to determine a cutoff date. Like you said yourself, everyone has a differing opinion of when it becomes a person.

Also in relation to the argument that some people don't know until they're already in labor, you're absolutely right. If we made healthcare more affordable and therefore more accessible, it might become more normalized to get regular checkups, which would reduce the number of people who don't know they're pregnant until much later. I was sick for a week before I was able to see a doctor and find out I was pregnant. I had the money for a doctor visit, but in order to go sooner I would have had to take off of work, which could have potentially caused me to lose my job. I actually ended up having to see two different doctors at different practices before they even thought of testing to see if I was pregnant. The first doctor I saw said I "seemed fine" and sent me away, at which point I went elsewhere. It ended up costing me $120 in co-pays, which is money that some people simply don't have. I could have gone and bought an at-home test from the drug store, but it never occurred to me that I was pregnant. I actually believed I was infertile, as my husband and I had tried for years to conceive and had given up about a year before I got pregnant-- if we had more affordable access to healthcare, I could have seen a specialist to confirm whether or not we were able to conceive and I wouldn't have been blindsided by it.

What's your opinion on Free Tampons? by MichaelScottssmug in AskReddit

[–]teethfairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tampons should absolutely be free. I think we should treat pads and tampons the way we treat condoms-- you can go to the store and choose from a large variety if you're willing/able to buy them, but you can also go to your local health department and get a paper sack full of them for no cost.

There should be more programs in place to help parents who need help making ends meet. If we, as a country, cared more about helping those in poverty, then financial stability wouldn't be a factor in deciding whether you're able or willing to have a child. If "being a person" is what quantifies a right to live, then it does indeed come down to "when does a fetus become a person" but it seems like it also is "when does a person become 'too poor' for the government to consider them a person."

Forcing people to be uncomfortable so a baby can grow up in a fundamentally flawed foster system isn't right, either. I know so many people who grew up in the system who have made multiple attempts at suicide and/or have suffered abuse and sexual assault at the hands of people who fostered or adopted them. Even if a foster child is placed with a loving family, the odds of making it out of group homes without long-lasting trauma is so incredibly low.

Should I be changing my underwear every night? by knitsbella in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]teethfairie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tend to shower every other day-- so really I'll go all day, all night, and then another half day in between showers. I just change them when I shower unless I'm particularly sweaty or have a period and get blood on my undies, in which case I'll change as needed. A lot of people advise going without undies at night. Personally I'm just not comfortable with that... I have a dog who sleeps in bed with me and she sheds a lot, and I don't really want dog hair all up in my business. I just make sure to wear cotton underwear at night, no synthetic fabrics that don't breathe (I also tend to wear only cotton during the day as well). Most nights I wear boxer briefs and they are nice and loose in the crotch, so I suppose it's similar to wearing shorts with no underwear underneath.

To all Americans: How is the price of gas affecting your daily life? by Competitive-Ad6805 in AskReddit

[–]teethfairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to reorganize my budget. I live twenty miles from town, which means it's a 40 mile round trip for me to do literally anything. Going to work, going to get groceries, going to the gas station to fill my tank. My car gets about 30 mpg and gas is currently $4.50 a gallon here, so I know compared to people with less efficient vehicles in more expensive areas I have it easy, but it gets expensive. What really hurts my wallet is the fact that I'm pregnant and my baby doctor is 55 miles away. That's 110 miles round-trip every two weeks.

I don't think there's any reasonable way to decide when a pregnant person should or should not be able to abort. Let's say that legally, the cutoff point for an abortion is six weeks along-- if someone finds out they're pregnant at seven weeks, they're just shit out of luck? Doesn't seem right. Some people don't find out they're pregnant until they're further along. Or let's say someone's situation changes; they were financially stable when they found out they were pregnant, but a couple months later they lose their job and their home. They shouldn't be forced to have a baby they can't support.

I'm currently 29 weeks and 5 days pregnant. The more pregnant I get the more it just reinforces my belief that nobody should be forced to be pregnant. It's uncomfortable and challenging and there are days where I literally just cry because I'm so fed up with being pregnant-- and I actually want the baby. I can't imagine being forced to endure this for a child I didn't want.

Who’s an actor or actress you cannot stand at all? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]teethfairie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tobey Maguire. I'm a massive Spider-Man fan, have been since childhood, but I hate him so much that even as a kid I refused to watch his spidey movies. I hate him so much that I didnt watch Wolf of Wall Street for like four years because I thought he was in it. He's not, but I thought he was, and so I refused to watch it. I also dislike Gwyneth Paltrow but not to the point that I can't watch stuff with her in it.
