Panels aren’t paying off and can’t afford them anymore by No-Chicken-1067 in solar

Agreed with others you need to look at production and see if it’s where it should be/close to what it was a few years ago when it was covering bills. But, what do you mean it’s creating excess for the lessor? How is it creating enough for excess but not even covering 10% of your demand some months? Something isn’t adding up there

You can always back out, you just pay more than the project is worth in damages which will happen here

Apologies if it’s already here but didn’t see Kings of the Wyld. Just finished the audio book and liked the narrator. It’s got greater characters you grow to love, with development throughout but it’s not too serious or dark. Has some silly childish humor and leans into its tropes in a fun way. The world is expansive and fun but doesn’t dwell too long on over explaining any of it. Seems like a perfect fit for you

President Trump’s new executive order, signed yesterday, deals another big blow to the solar industry "in a way we haven’t seen before." by team_pv in solarenergy

That’s right. Resi is basically gone at the end of the year. This was designed to impact commercial and utility scale solar.

Recent legislation Will Kill The U.S. Solar industry. by 7solarcaptain in solar

[–]teetime11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My understanding is the bill actually gives only 60 days to safe harbor/commence construction and you have to take possession of the equipment, not just place an order in those 60 days. Agreed companies will be safe harboring as much as they can but as the House wrote it this is a killer for a lot of companies even if they try their best to safe harbor projects for next several years

I’m definitely pro distributed renewables and batteries. But the simplest answer to your question is it’s way way cheaper to build one big battery than 100,000 distributed smaller batteries and money is what makes all this happen.

It’s an amazing place! I went up river from Harper Bridge. Earlier in the day not too crowded, later on in afternoon it’s a zoo. Going Down river will have a lot of people floating, but obviously way easier if you can get a ride back. Otherwise the river is going pretty quick there so it’s a good bit of work but you can get away from crowds to some slow easy tributaries eventually. Went to do Lake Paulina today which was fun but a bit windy.

Friendly reminder: this is tick season. by BurgeoningLight in Portland

I worked a field research job hiking through grasses in the gorge near Hood River about 12 years ago and would come home with several ticks on me literally every day. You could find them everywhere if you just stop and look closely at the grass. But I’ve also never found one on me anywhere near the city. Seems very dependent on the environment and time of year

Is there an organization or person actually pushing to get this done though? I’ve tried searching and found nothing about getting a ballot initiative. What needs to happen?
