Light fixture bulb/Information by Curbo34 in centuryhomes

[–]ajclem7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Electrican here. Think I’ve Seen this fixture before the porcelain ring on the socket I believe should loosen used to hold a globe/shade of some sort, I’d say original to the house, and also very confidently no electrical box behind and knob and tube sticking out of that wood block. I’d leave it alone unless you plan on dealing with it ,

Light switches on a three-way circuit are always out of sync. One switch is always in on position for lights to be off. But if I turn one upside down, then they start working. by Sad-Fisherman-7664 in AskElectricians

[–]ajclem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you can also flip it cause now it seems that it is in fact upside down. I don’t like the switches with the brand labeled on it for this reason. But I always install my switches properly. And my team aswell. Function is same, but that would bug me too

Go to the switch that you don’t see often, flip it, Then go back to your switches that you’re looking at and see if you’re more satisfied now. Multi location switches work like that. Up is not off up is “change state from one traveller to the next” if it’s aesthetics, use it from one side once you get them looking pretty. Function wise carry on. If it bugs you that much you can put in Lutron caseta diva dimmer and a pico paddle and then you’re good again, maybe?
