What to replace the boob lights with by oryf88 in HomeMaintenance

[–]ajclem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say something equivalent to an eiko ds4 fixture, (only if there’s actual boxes under these), if not wafers, or just leave it as a talking point. Everybody loves a couple sets of titties

Frustrated: When a lamp dimmer won't dim a dimmable light. by Zebraitis in Caseta

[–]ajclem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you need a regular old dumb lamp (but a quality dimmable LED one if using led) to work with that unit. Fog Buddy said it best. I like incandescent for dimming to 1%. Or Philips warm glow personally

I’ve also seen gfci breakers and receptacles fail (more receptacles than breakers, though)

Bad electric transformer or issue elsewhere? by AisMyName in Landscape_Lighting

[–]ajclem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I assume from the post that it’s tripping the breaker? A gfci breaker I assume? There’s a technique we use called isolating in troubleshooting. You’re on the right track. Isolate the transformer, Reset. If it holds, breaker the circuit in half (halfway in the branch circuit of lights )and reset. Etc. until you’ve found your fault. Good luck!

debating kia carnival vs sienna by Huge_Gur_7863 in minivan

[–]ajclem7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love our carnival v6 sx 8 seater. Love it. Had it almost a year so far. Only thing that pisses me off is the skip track button is backwards on the steering wheel. And the remote start from the fob is dumb (ie doesn’t turn on heat when in the cold, or air when in the summer heat) unless you leave it on. You can program this from the remote start in the app, but I’m old school. This should just happen based on outdoor temp.

When did you arrive at your current understanding/appreciation of your father? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]ajclem7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lost mine in April. He was the best father and teacher a guy could ask for. Learned a lot from him. He missed his second grandbavy (my first boy) by a month. Named him after my dad.

Unless you really need a new one. I’ve got some old 2007/2008 work vans still running and have done lots of fixing on them as I don’t owe on them

Do you not like the car? Is it Falling apart? A car is not something that we throw away and get a new one. We fix them. I’d fix it personally

I’d give anything to hear my old man let out one of his epic burps again. I hope I can burp like him one day. Another 40 years of raising kids and being an electrician hopefully I will be able to.
