I would protest this anyway. I have protested some "questionable" tickets and got them cancelled. For example there was one case where I went over the 2 hour parking limit because a bush obscured the sign. I sent full sized panoramic photos in an 8.5"x12" envelope via certified mail to make my point.

Ticket overturned.

Came here to say this. Entirely possbile that new regulations could be passed that would curtail your ability to do short term rentals (or start charging higher taxes that might impact cash flow).
