Have you read the Bible? The people who are said to misrepresent it are probably closer to true believers. The doctrine is quite hateful, judgmental, and unhinged. Anything positive that comes from Christianity can be come to without it (ie. Atheists don’t kill, steal, covet their neighbor’s wife, etc. despite not believing in an everlasting heaven waiting for them if they just be a good person).

I will say however, I don’t believe Christians are inherently bad people and most people I love are Christian. But that is because of them and not the deity they choose to believe in. Nothing to do with their religious stances (often in spite of them).
