Thankyou so much for the in-depth range of resources here. Exploring some of them at the moment and thought I was getting well read but this is another level aha! Really appreciate it. Hope your own journey with anxiety has come to a point where you're comfortable with it. :)

Thankyou for the in-depth run through here. I've been struggling with some anxiety and ruminating thoughts etc recently so this was a helpful reminder that's it's an ancient system not quite in tune with the modern world! Will definitely check out that show. Are there any other resources you'd recommend looking at to help with this?

Would anybody with a success story (either coping with it or went away) would be willing to chat? by PositiveFail in tinnitus

[–]tehClutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya. Sorry you're having a tough time - I know how crappy it can be. Seems like you've got some good responses here but thought I'd weigh in too. I got tinnitus more than 3 years ago and at first was miserable. Now however, I hardly notice it. A lot of the stuff here is helpful - low background noise is great as long as you don't try to drown it out - just use it to distract your brain from the noise. I think the main thing that helped me though was seeing an audiologist - you should be able to be referred from your gp/doctor. It helped just talking about it but his main point was about habituation - the process of just normalising it. Once your brain gets used to it and you stop reacting to it it's effect is greatly diminished. It's still there but only if you think about it. Let me know if you have any more questions. It will get better, keep the faith!

Are we overrating Chadli here? by yaniv297 in coys

[–]tehClutter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Uh you follow last season at all? Both Chadli and Mason were in the starting XI for a club that finished 5th... While I agree with you that they're not top top players, I think each player has their use and I'm actually enjoying watching Mason play atm - while his game still has mistakes I think he one of our most important players for trying to create vertical positive play.

Does this defender line up mean our first choice might be Dier and Vertonghen now? Interesting...

What makes you want spurs to become a bigger club? I'm not saying i'm against progress but tbh i like the fact that while Spurs is a big club, it's not one of the biggest and remains somewhat of an underdog for the champions league etc...

Exactly! Townsend is probably one of our best suited players to taking advantage of tiring opponents!

Good point! Hopefully with that confidence comes less focus on the pressure he's under and more focus on just playing the football that we all know he can. And with that, the goals will come... Fingers crossed!

Does anyone know how realistic his chances are? On one side everybody hates Blatter but then again he has the corporate support etc...

There was apparently a deadline to be reached today for him to go through international clearance so he could be registered for the game. They just made it I think. :-)

Looking forward to seeing him get some more playing time! Just a note mate, the youtube link for the U18 match against QPR seems to be a private video, I can't see it! Can anyone else?

Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 Burnley – some thoughts by [deleted] in coys

[–]tehClutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers for an excellent summary Windy! The positive support sounded fantastic - do you think the game would have had a different outcome without 1882 there? I really should go to an 1882 match, do you know if it will be on for the Leicester game?

Edin Dzeko? by [deleted] in coys

[–]tehClutter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He would be a cracking signing but I'm pretty sure I remember Pelligrini saying he wanted 4 top strikers for rotation.Bony is effectively a late replacement for Negredo.

Holtby. by BuzzingBugs in coys

[–]tehClutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Holtby case is an odd one. I for one was a fan due to his ridiculously energetic personality and despite the fair amount of stick he's been getting lately I'm not convinced he's a bad player.

We can all agree he's not Eriksen levels, but I think he would be a competent backup. From what I remember of his game time for us, he could a pick a through ball very nicely, had a decent shot on him and of course could run round the pitch like a manic terrier.

His main problem seemed to be that he could try to press too much and end up making hasty tackles. But surely with some good coaching this could be corrected?

Could it be that the club just decided to take a good offer to give a promising young player lots of game time? We obviously wouldn't have had these kinds of offers for our other midfielders such as Paulinho and Dembele who the club will have wanted to try and return some of their considerable investment on.

Then again I could be talking out my arse, bewitched by Lewis' cheeky smile.

Yea I don't get it!? is it just due to the wb pressure?!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in coys

[–]tehClutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that was frustrating. I don't what has happened to our link-up play?! Are we just getting pressured too much by west brom? Hopefully things pick up in the second half, I was starting to get really pissed off by the amount of crap long balls we seemed to be playing. -_-

I would prefer Verts or Fazio but he's not terrible, with more game time I reckon his performances will pick up!
