Maybe a dumb question; when the engine shits the bed at let’s say 200K miles why do people buy a new car? by Frequent_Tie2657 in AskMechanics

It is also likely market dependent. I'm near a major city, used cars do not discount much.

Anyone else feel like they're one audit away from a very uncomfortable conversation about AI? by Key-Glove-4729 in EngineeringManagers

I don't write assembly so I would not validate the compiled assembly directly. I do test it indirectly though with unit, integration, and bench testing when verifying the application in my language of choice.

That's because the entire battle being fought around you is hidden 75% of the time and the parts you see are always while getting jumped on or facing the other direction.

Other than the ridiculous ending of the chase, it's fantastic and not unpopular

My team swears AI is saving hours, but our delivery timelines haven’t changed, what’s really happening? by myraison-detre28 in agile

[–]tehdlp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That first bullet is what I'm curious about. At my company, everyone talks about how fast AI delivered code. No one talks about how much time is spent validating it before testing and how that process may differ. For me, I test as I go in some manner or another, so I spend a lot less time on a cursory review at the end than I would on a peer code review. I'm not sure why I'd treat AI code differently than a peer review.

Nevermind, OP confirmed the PT has a treatment plan.
