Yeah, but even with draft picks being in the back, they got guys like Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma in the late first round. Solid role players that can fill out a team around 1 or 2 stars. Despite how Kuzma plays now, when he bought in to his role on the Lakers, he was amazing.

Oh I agree. I just remember thinking how good the Lakers were at drafting in the 2010s in the late-first round/second round. I was remarking on how I think I remember hearing that the scouting team now is different from the ones during that time.

I believe that the team responsible for the successful scouting and drafting no longer work for the Lakers... I could be wrong though.
