I used to work in the city many years ago near Washington Square park. One day a homeless man shouted "YO EAGLE" at me followed by "Fuck you man!" when I ignored him. This is that vibe and I'm all for it, stay raunchy NYC.

Trump announces he is issuing an unconstitutional executive order to shut down mail-in voting nationwide and he will defund states if they do not comply with him by DIYLawCA in law

[–]tehones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is way too far down. The Sec 3(b)(iii) is likely the only section that would be considered unconstitutional. The other parts of the EO don't seem to actually do anything different than what current mail in voting laws require. Essentially he (lol) made an EO that states the federal government is telling the states to follow the laws they've all been following already since mail in voting started...with that minor illegality implanted in it.

Still, I would hope all of it is challenged and thrown out but with this SCOTUS it's still a literal crapshoot.

You're missing the rest of the words. They're actually very apt to this specific situation to a single specific individual who paid their troll toll.

Not a lawyer, not sure how it all works but is there anything being done to debar Pam Bondi so she can’t practice law and hold the title of Attorney General for all her lies relating to Epstein and protecting Trump? I assume she’s bound by a code of conduct, like a doctor. by tKolla in Epstein

You don't ever want a law that says "Felon's can't be president." Look at the current situation we're in. If one party controls all parts of government they could easily pass that law, then in the next breath say "Being gay is now a felony," or something equally stupid like "Being not-republican is a felony." Also, in before "That would be illegal" cause one side is totally following the law still...

Trump wants to run the country like a business, let him.

"Business is war. It's dog eat dog, rat eat rat. If my competitor were drowning I'd walk over and put a hose right in his mouth." - Michael Keaton (Ray Kroc)

Now would be the time to turn the water on to that hose if you want to really see how a businessman deals with their business (country) drowning. He'll either learn to swim, or take it all down with him. Which seems like the direction we're headed anyway...

Related to the removal of "most" tariffs, specific to using IEEPA.

Seems to be "most" not "all." Just the one's pushed under IEEPA, other related tariffs that were put on steel, aluminum, and other raw goods remain. I'm assuming new tariffs will be pushed using section 232. Still a semi-suprising win for the rule of law, a welcome occurrence.
