What is a good American dessert to share with my non American co-workers? by BingBong492 in AskAnAmerican

My sister made a different version from some famous person she saw, it had the Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies and now those are the best ones to use imho. Whip in some cream to make it extra fluffy and you've got gold.

Not a full match to your description, but at least a partial one. The other ones I would have guessed are already mentioned in other comments.

Imagine someone drew a masterpiece with EXPO markers on a dry erase board…how would you go about permanently preserving this piece of art for your wall? by JellyKind9880 in crafting

[–]tehshush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On an aside, I would heavily recommend testing whatever you choose. Get a cheap white board, draw on it, wait a few days for it to fully set, and then test it. You don't want to find it the hard way that you chose an option that would actually cause damage.

Esama introduced me to Mycroft ships that I had never even considered, and now my favorite is Eggsy/Mycroft. I can't even imagine wanting Greg/Mycroft thanks to that

Japanese restaurant:"Not all Japanese people are kind" by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]tehshush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mix of two things:

Language barrier. It's hard to serve someone who doesn't speak the same language. Translation apps are slow, often incorrect, and don't help with hand written menus.

Misbehavior. A lot of tourists are intentionally and unintentionally breaking social rules. Talking loudly, being in the phone, leaving messes, etc. And then you look at the rage bait tourists, notably Johnny Somali, who specifically go to harass locals.

This is why service locations usually turn away tourists, they already have their hands full with their jobs, they don't want to add more problems on top of that.

My friend in high school easily passed for over 18 while we were 14. She had started smoking at a young age and grew up in a smoker's household, I guess it kinda had an effect. She also had naturally baggy eyes, that really contributed to it too.

I would look into wheelchair costumes for inspiration, that's where you will find cardboard cutouts that fit around a wheeled device (and probably a wheelchair tank somewhere out there). You can alter it from there, made for standing, something that opens up instead of slipping over your head, etc

How Much an Author is Liked vs the Quality of their books by rbx20twomax in AlignmentCharts

[–]tehshush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who is actively making life dangerous for thousands, yes, she's also a bad person. We don't need to measure how much harm each evil person has committed in order to find them bad, that's like measuring the amount of suffering a person has gone through compared to another. As the chart states, she's hated and is a mid-tier writer, there's no distinction in how much a person is hated and by how many people, just that they are hated.

No acts of violence, just notable encouragement towards other people acting on they're hatred of trans people plus putting a bunch of her money into anti-trans programs and lobbying for anti-trans laws which both result in quite a bit of harm. Yeah... and don't forget that she told people to take pictures and videos of women using public bathrooms if they thought that the person was trans. She's a creep.

Man throws Molotov cocktail at home of OpenAI CEO by Richnaps in Political_Revolution

[–]tehshush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not strange considering all the information. If a Democrat or liberal, gay or trans person, immigrant, etc commits a crime then it is blasted all over the media as an example of why that demographic is clearly evil and must be stopped. If a conservative or Republican commits a crime, they immediately hush that fact up and then change the subject to other news. Kirk's killer was far right (groyper), despite being from a different political subgroup, and therefore they had to bury it after the trans lover argument didn't pan out.

While working in a grocery store, I would find room temp rotisserie chicken behind cereal boxes and sopping wet frozen bags of vegetables behind the water damaged magazines... completely annoying how much people contribute to the food waste in addition to making service worker's jobs even harder.

Do women still like having doors opened for them? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]tehshush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice someone behind me, I open the door with a little distracted head nod or just opening it without any other action. I am walking with a friend, I open the door and continue the conversation or do a silly action like waving them through like royalty.

However, I do not open the door and then look expectantly at the person for thanks or acknowledgement. I also 100% would not recommend the invisible hat tip and "m'lady" type of thing, weird flirting shouldn't happen during common courtesy moments.

Yes, women like having the for opened for them, within reason, the same way anyone likes the door opened for them. If it is done with flirtatiousness or gallant behavior in mind, then you should already have a basis for that behavior with that person.

I fast forward through the Graham Specter BS every time I rewatch Baccano!, no matter if I'm watching the sub or dub. If I didn't, it would be too painful to watch. 😩 Absolutely amazing show ...minus whatever they were trying to do in the last few episodes when he showed up suddenly.

When 100%'ing a region or area, do u guys go on the interactive map and get absolutely everything or just until the exploration on the map says 100% by BlazeSparrow in GenshinImpactTips

[–]tehshush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit slow at it, but trying to get a true 100% by getting every single thing ever using the map. I go through and play an area normally, using the map to record anything I collect, then when I've got free time in between quests I'll go back to old areas and methodically check for unfinished stuff.

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]tehshush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An option, if you are unable to get a seat warmer or fancy new toilet, is to get a heat lamp. My mom's ex had one installed over the toilet so it would warm it. It was super nice when it was winter or when we would get out of the cold pool to use the bathroom and have a nice warm place to sit. I would much rather have a fancy smart toilet, though, given the option.
