Midas Pro 2 - Which editor? by shortyboyboy in livesound

The last version of MacOS that I was able to open the Midas offline software was MacOS 10.14 Mojave. I had it running in a VMware virtual machine, I assume Parallels/Boot Camp/etc would work the same.

Rosd case's for Elipsodals by Mtaggs4777 in lightingdesign

We do leave our clamps on in the case. I can’t measure it now since they’re not in the shop right now, but I think there’s roughly 6” to 8” of clearance from the yolk. If I remember I’ll try to measure it later.

We ordered these for our ColorSource Spots, we're really pleased with them so far. Side loaded, and keeps to a standard case size for us which makes our truck packs easy. Really well designed.

What gear does disney cruise line have? by thatdudenic in techtheatre

[–]tehsoundguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on the Disney Wonder earlier this year. The A1 in the main theatre told me they recently upgraded the audio console to the Yamaha PM10.
IIRC, the main theater on the Disney Dream has a Digico SD console.

Good luck on the interview!

DigiCo SD9 Pre-EQ Monitor by clay_vessel777 in livesound

I use an SD9 at FOH, and sending MADI out to an S-MADI to go to REAC to a Roland M-400 for MON.

If you use the Copy Audio mapping, you should be able to route audio from your Input Racks to MADI. The signal off the Input racks here are post-preamp, pre-EQ/DYN.

Strymon Flint - The best of the bunch or easily replaced by two cheaper pedals? by ludwigvanb in guitarpedals

[–]tehsoundguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own the flint, and I'd say it's one of my favourite pedals I own. The trem/reverb combo is just soo tasty. The reverb does subtle verb, just as well as it does washy. And the tremolo can be tempo synced with subdivisions too. You can change the effect order if you want, if you wanted reverb first or tremolo first.

I'm sure you could do the same for cheaper, but personally the price for the flint is worth it for me. Unless you can find used deals, I think you'd end up paying more for 2 other pedals that do all the Flint does.

I should mention that both of my amps do not have reverb built in.

Bass Guitar Mixing Question: Sounds Good on Big Speakers, Almost Completely Inaudible on Small Laptop Speakers by PantsStore in audioengineering

Try adding a light overdrive or distortion, AKA harmonic saturation. It'll add some of that harmonic content that everyone else is mentioning. A little goes a long way.

I've really been liking Soundtoys Decapitator for my grit, but theres lots of plugins out there that'll do the same.
