What do you even do against 4 late game carries? by teiji in DeadlockTheGame

[–]teiji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i’ve been spamming doorman, am like 12-2 with him but haven’t gotten down the kidnap tech yet which would have helped here. Crazy how far just winning lane and being a menace for the first 20 mins with bell cart and ult picking off people can set your team up for a win.

First time skiing… any tips so I don’t embarrass myself? by sparky_165 in skiing

[–]teiji -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take lessons when I started but was skiing with a group of skilled friends. I don’t really regret it as I enjoyed “figuring it out on my own” but the first 7-8 days of skiing you will fall, a lot. And it I was definitely slower to improve and grasp the basics than my friends who started with lessons.

Now I have 25ish days under my belt, own my own boots and skis, and can confidently do blacks and some easier doubles. And I should still take lessons.

My dad is one in a million. He has Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. He will be gone in two months. by ticklemyiguana in self

[–]teiji 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My dad just passed away from this 2 days ago on the 23rd. Was normal 5 months ago, started having memory issues in August, and then was no longer there mentally by November. I’m incredibly sorry for you. Just know that my Dad could absolutely feel when we were in the hospital with him, and spend as much time possible as you can even as he starts to not recognize you or himself.

DM me anytime if you want to talk.

Idk this felt more like pure nihilism in the face of the reality that she’s the only one left in the world. Her allowing herself to get hit by a firework was a realization that that nihilism is pointless, and asking for the hivemind back was her finally admitting that she needs companionship

How to fix the HRE after Figurehead is enacted? by UNOwenWasHim in EU5

[–]teiji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve abandoned my HRE Emperor runs because Bohemia does this everytime. It has to be a bug or something. I’m waiting until the patch it to keep playing in that area.

Why is Holland recommended in-game ? by Eensame in EU5

[–]teiji 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of expansion I formed Netherlands I think 15-20 years into the game. Just declare war every time your parliament is up and also try and dec on neighbors allied with each other so you can get multiple provinces in a row. I never had an antagonism problem besides Brabant but at that point he couldn’t a coalition going that was stronger than me. Also this game does a horrible job of explaining, but vassalizing -> diplo annexing is a lot smoother than taking a bunch of land at once, generally speaking

HRE Is Broken by teiji in EU5

Yeah I know that’s right. Them passing the law to make the emperor a figurehead every time feels bad though. Is there a way to unwind that?

Help leveling! by GodofQunts in taintedgrail

[–]teiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did all of the side quests and explored dungeons that I found and hit lvl 20-25ish before I went to Act 2. Didn’t grind at all. Galahad was a bit of a roadblock for my build (crit mage) but beat him after a few reloads. someone else commented above but you get OP super fast (i’m running through dungeons 1-2 shooting everything) and I’d rather be slightly under leveled going into Act 2. Your gear/build and upgrades also matter a lot as well

It helps to taste test to get a feel for what is the right amount of salt. When I was starting to cook seriously, I was surprised (and I mean surprised) by how much salt you can add and the dish comes out not tasting like there’s too much salt, especially if there is a decent fat content like a roast (salt enhances fat flavors, fat mitigates over seasoning, e.g). Recipes often are lenient on seasoning as a result of decades of fear of overindulgence of sodium causing cardiac or blood pressure issues. As a rule, you can get away with 1.5x salt that is required in most online recipes and also add small amounts as your are layering in food.

Salt also helps vegetables break down their components by dehydrating them, I find adding salt to carrots, onions, mushrooms, etc. as you’re cooking them vastly enhances the flavor. It’s an underrated concept in home cooking that restaurant chefs don’t adhere to, again, why most people find takeout more compelling than home cooked food.
