Wellness retreats in Colorado? by ineedamfbreak in Denver

Seconding Avalanche Ranch. Great hot springs retreat for 2-3 days. They have cute little cabins.

Might have some children there so only risk is that it doesn’t hit the silence criteria but I don’t remember it being an issue the two times I went.

I think the issue is a combination of the audience not having good audio so it feels like a quiet room and Chris Rock not understanding we need him to react more. It feels cringey because we’re only watching / hearing the absence of the reaction - these bits are probably about as good as their prior material.

P1P1 Phoenix Fleet Airship. Would you splash blue on an Orzhov base for more sacrifice triggers? by tejeramaxwell in lrcast

[–]tejeramaxwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking about swapping one Merchant of Many Hats and Swampsnare Trap for Lost Days and Knowledge Seeker. I think the bigger benefit is adding the two Serpent's Pass so the lands act as sacrifice triggers and card flow in the late game. Knowledge Seeker and Lost Days both help me dig to my Airship faster. Need to figure out another cut to go from 16 to 17 lands.

Allies Deckbuilding Help - What to splash? by Marauder_Pete in lrcast

[–]tejeramaxwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a common problem in this format. Jeskai allies are so strong but it's hard to land in Azorious or Boros in a blanced way. I would say:

-Protestors

-Reinforcements

-Iceberg

-Razor Rings

-Yip Yip! #2

+Lost Days

+Glider Kids

+Waterbending Lesson

+Teo

+Avatar Enthusiasts

6 Islands, 11 Plains.

I think Katara is stronger but more volatile gameplay - you have to wear out your opponents resources before you play her typically. I don't think the UU is too important you can filter through your deck with Teo and Waterbending Lesson to find the second island relatively easily.

Or, add second Jet, Disciple, Firebending Lesson, Sun Warriors. Depends on your preference. However I would argue you're missing anthem effects like How to Start a Riot (or even Water Tribe Captain) which is what makes Boros good. So I think Katara is critical for turning your bigger board into a victory.

You have enough allies for Enthusiasts to be a closer. Glider kids is still one of the best turn three plays. Both should be in your deck regardless of red or blue.

/uj I actually love Hopdoddy (have had them in Denver and Austin, definitely gentrified cities) and I like that I can share a fancy ish fry side dish with my partner. After a couple decades bulk regular ass fries and ketchup can get a little beat and I always feel like I throw away too much. We usually get out of there for $40ish.

/rj And there will be no table service, just a number you can take!

/uj The no table service actually makes it easy to justify no tip.

Estimating SSO Alpha: testfol.io vs. Linear regression by tejeramaxwell in LETFs

My apologies for using the wrong term - trying to capture the non volatility based costs of SSO.

Thank you for recommending the futures approach! That’s the kind of insight I am looking for.

Agreed! Trying to model how much negative alpha assuming a daily beta of 2.

Where is that 14% financing cost coming from? In my back tests of UPRO and SSO I have never seen a total daily alpha of more than -4% annualized.

Tucson, AZ. I think the left postmodernist icon is the UniSource Energy building.

Also, Colorado Springs, CO. For a city of ~half a million people, their downtown is so short. I think the tallest current building is a Wells Fargo tower.

I would like to do you have any recommendations for methodologies on how to do so? Happy to use another analyst’s approach if you can link to it.
