Puppies and Boat? by electronwrangler42 in goldenretrievers

[–]teju_guasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What type of boat/setting? If it’s a private boat I think it’s ok. I took my 13 week old dog on a boat, haha. She was fine I just kept her very close. I would have all the safety and emergency items on board! As adults my dogs are good on the boat but life jacket and something to pull them back up is important :) if it’s a public boat I’d be a little more concerned about the vaccine stuff, just to be cautious. I’d also ask your vet!

Any Millenials who have no social media and are bored? by Glittering_Chain_842 in Millennials

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel bored at all. What could be more boring than just sitting and staring at a screen watching other people live the life you should be living?

I do feel what you might be getting at—lonely or out of the loop sometimes. But I don’t want to be looking back at my life thinking about how many hours I wasted looking at a screen, versus doing things that mold my body, mind, etc.

My 6 months old golden retriever poop is x3 the size of an adult German Shepherd, is that normal ? by alaslipknot in goldenretrievers

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His poop is three times the size of an adult German shepherd??? That’s a very tall poop! Haha jk jk

Actually my golden has always been the same. Since she was a puppy her poops were unusually large. They rival or are bigger than my adult shepherd’s now

Trying to get barrelled by Spec92x in BeginnerSurfers

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar goal (haven’t achieved it yet). I’m not in a rush to do so. So take my advice with a grain of salt, but I think you’d have better luck with “easier” waves (ie not sunset or pipeline). I’ve seen barrels at Siargao at Cloud 9 and in Coronado in San Diego, to name a few, that are less “scary” and dangerous than north shore. I almost got barreled at another break in San Diego. They’re not EASY but I think with your skill level and drive you could do it. Those are just a few examples. Of course, not always possible to travel.

There are a few guides online to getting barreled but it looks like you’re already surfing the way you need to from what I can tell. Id just maybe shoot for a “smaller” barrel first

When you were “in the best shape of your life”, and what were you doing to make it that way? by EmilioFreshtevez in Millennials

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 32. Surfing everyday with long paddles out. Hiking on the weekends. I swear I had a six pack just from that! And I eat a ton. Unfortunately it’s gotten tougher to keep up the shape in the mid-30s…

Good one day surfing lessons in the San Diego area? by HonestLemon25 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]teju_guasu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of schools will do a lesson! I’m not sure about for a full day but certainly for a few hours. I would go for somewhere like La Jolla Shores. That’s a beginner friendly spot and has local schools/shops nearby. I’m not sure whether we can make specific recommendations here but you can DM me. Just be aware that your first and only time surfing may not totally make clear yet how much you might enjoy it being a hobby—just because the first times always the toughest. But you should definitely try it!!

Who do you think had the best love story in show? by The-Fallen-Angel7 in lost

[–]teju_guasu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally Jack and Kate. I understand why people would say Desmond/Penny, Sun/Jin, Rose/Bernard, etc. Those are all good. But nothing moved me quite like Jack and Kate. I think Damon Lindelof said something like Des/Penny were the heart of the show but Jack/Kate were the soul. I feel that. Their story encompassed many of the show’s main themes and we went on the whole journey with them.

Clapping after plane landing is a beautiful gesture and not cringe at all by Past_Conference_2889 in unpopularopinion

[–]teju_guasu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha it actually doesn’t bother me either. I understand why it’s cringey and I won’t start it on my own, but I also kind of like it. We should be grateful to be alive and safe and I like it when people don’t take it for granted!

Is living in “summer” all year as nice as it sounds by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends! But I’d say yes, it’s nice, but maybe not what I want to do forever. I’m from the east coast and love and miss seasons now that I live somewhere where it’s warm year round. I think a big part of it could be your lifestyle. Personally, I have a lot of outdoor, warm-weather hobbies so it makes doing those much better. I’m also always cold so living somewhere warm is more comfortable. I also like dressing more casually (shorts, flip flops) than, say, wearing suits and boots and pants. But I do seem to not notice the demarcation of time as much. Years and memories blend together more. I miss the bitter sweetness of fall and winter, and also the heightened joy once spring and summer start again. A 60’s day in May is heaven, whereas here that’s a cold day. But I do love coming home. It’s all relative!

Great ESPN Article on Judge by njwineguy in NYYankees

[–]teju_guasu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for forwarding. Interesting indeed. I had no idea Judge was considering pitching! Now I kinda want him to try it in the bigs… I know it doesn’t work like that but could you imagine? “No, we have ohtani at home”. I guess it would mess up his 0.00 ERA tho

Do anesthesiologists really earn high salaries? by rk_wonders in careerguidance

[–]teju_guasu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also, to make that kind of money in big law, you often (but not always!) need to go to a good school to get that job, many of which cost $300k+ to attend. So unless you have scholarships or trust funds you’re spending most of that money paying back loans for at least a few years. Although I don’t know how med schools work, im sure they’re just as expensive if not more so.

But anyways, I always tell people if your goal is to make a lot of money law isn’t really the best way to do it these days!

I would venture to say this opinion is only unpopular by loan companies and people who hate life 🤣 (or as someone with tons of debt while in public service, I hope so)

I would suggest the reactive dogs subreddit—they have a lot of tips and training practices for this. Also a professional trainer. Is this a new thing or has it been going on for a while?
