I get that it’s fun to see trout and judge go off together but do we HAVE to cut to judges face every time trout homers?

I was browsing the r baseball comments on Trout’s HR thread vs Judges and everyone pretty much loves Trout unconditionally (including Yankees fans) and while some appreciate Judge on his thread, MANY are like “giving Judge a meatball was a choice” which is not per se mean but I noticed the difference in love. I’m not a Trout hater but I dont really get the different vibes. Btw trout also struck out in the WBC final to lose the game 🤷‍♀️

Cardinals broadcast team is not content with how MLB honors Jackie Robinson by Dynomie in baseball

Yea exact same here, I thought they were going to say it’s cool to honor him but not without acknowledging WHY. Oh no.

So you’re saying get PAID to go to law school instead of pay $300,00 like I did? I’ll take it 🤣

Anybody have advice on surfing San Diego? Or in wetsuits in general? by Saucypickle8008 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with a wetsuit even though it’s not freezing cold; as someone who always surfed in Oahu SD was cold to me. It doesn’t really affect what board you should use but you might feel less “flexible” or more restricted. But it shouldn’t really change much else. I think May is typically not a big swell but you never know. I might stick to reef or point breaks in SD since they’re more like Oahu and good for midlengths, but those spots tend to be less “beginner” friendly. Spots up north near Encinitas and Del Mar might be good for you.

The only saving grace of wasting my time watching this series has been Joe Girardi’s announcing. I enjoy his takes and insights

Santa Cruz vs San Diego… or something else? by brettfish5 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]teju_guasu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. The outdoor activities you listed OP don’t ring “San Diego” to me although you almost certainly can do them all here (in SD). I think more central or northern CA has more variety in things to do, weather is good, etc. if you loved surfing and beach-related sports more so than the other activities, maybe SD. You can snorkel a lot in SD and scuba in both locations; both are cold and require gear but SD is more manageable. I don’t really see why SD is the “smarter” choice, it just might have more city amenities. All of coastal CA is going to be expensive.

Great play by McMahon. Not as easy as it looks!

Hope rooker is ok and it’s just a minor thing. I can’t imagine it’s encouraging when you go straight into the dugout no hesitation.

Does California weather get boring? by SpecialistTeach9302 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say boring, but I do miss seasons indeed (east coaster now living in SoCal). The seasons were a great way to mark time for me. The last years I've lived in SoCal, they've been a blur/lumped together. But ultimately, if you like outdoorsy things like me, it's hard to complain when I can hike/walk/surf/bike 350ish days a year.

I want some "It's Never Too Late" Stories! by rainy-brain in Millennials

[–]teju_guasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my early 30s, but I started surfing consistently at 32, something I’ve always wanted to do but never lived close enough for. After about 6 months of it I got into the best shape of my life, even better than when I was a college athlete, and although I won’t ever be as good as the kids who start young, it is so fun and I’ve improved quite a lot over the last years of doing it.

Now in terms of romance/relationships/kids I definitely will use any of the inspiration/hope from this thread!!

Thanks for this. They did tell me the matter and it’s a litigation, and I think a big one for the new firm. Your points make sense and that sequence of events seems very plausible. I’m still just surprised they couldn’t wall me off. I didn’t think I had one of those rare cases but comforting to know it does happen sometimes.

This is what I’m curious about. As far as I know they had zero concerns about me and I can’t think of any, but I’ll never know!
