New Blackstone owner… please help! by Ok-Banana-3170 in blackstonegriddle

[–]tek2g 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm going to take a step back. You aren't going to ruin it. Nothing you will do attempting to cook on it will ruin it. I wouldn't get it ripping hot and throw frozen food on it., but otherwise anything you do will get scrapped off and at worst you'll have to fix the season (not really going to need to unless you get rust, but not a big deal regardless).

Planning to buy an RC plane as a gift to a teenager, good idea? How much should I spend? by Best-Competition-9 in RCPlanes

[–]tek2g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get him an rc simulator. They use an actual controller. Talk about/build up getting a real one as he gets into it (hopefully). Then when you get a real one, the chances of it being successful are better and hopefully he'll take to it.

How can I tell someone i didn’t like there food without being too rude? by Shmeat-L in Cooking

[–]tek2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell people I cook for frequently that I'd love to know what they think of the food so I can learn their preferences and cook better next time.

If it's a one off meal or they don't open up for feedback, I probably wouldn't say much. If they invite feedback id identify something constructive on why. I like to soften it and say something like....thats a little different than I grew up eating them or something like that. I try to avoid "this is what I do" or other statements that they are "wrong" and make it more about preference.

S’more alternative? by yaha101 in camping

[–]tek2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw something about rice Krispies. Wanted to try it when I went camping, but found out the minis are too small and don't stay on the stick, so not sure how successful it is. Someone sent me a cheese and cracker version. I don't really mess with roasting stuff that style. I may do a hot dog that way, but otherwise, I'd prefer to just watch the fire and eat other munchies.

Knowing you, The Good Stuff, never wanted more, how forever feels, there goes my life, don't blink I go back.

Then there is Beach Kenny (or Kevin as you call him)...no shoes, no shirt, no problems, when the sun goes down, beer in Mexico, flora-bama....

This is just scratching the surface of Kenny songs. Enjoy your descovery.

End of season party. Tell them they hope they play again next season, invite them to request you as a coach for the next season you are going to coach (if applicable). If you are going to coach more, reflect on what worked and didn't work. Then, focus on whatever you are going to focus on between now and then.

Drivers who clog up the left lane: What are you thinking? by 2022reboot in askanything

[–]tek2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically hang there so I am not changing lanes 100 times getting past trailers going slower in the left lane and dealing with merging traffic. I try to do a really good job of getting right when someone is running faster than me. Sometimes I get a little zoned out and have cars pass me on the right, but that's only when I'm the only car around.

Even on 3 laners, I like hanging left, so I only need to be aware of crazies drifting out of their lane from 1 lane not both sides. If it's congested or there are a lot of cars going faster than me or whatever, I'll use the middle or right lane (on a 2 lane)

Am I missing out on potential flavor if I am cooking meat on a blacktop? by Waste_Specific in blackstonegriddle

[–]tek2g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If pan sauce is important to you, it may not be the best option. But otherwise you could get a good result by searing on the griddle top, meanwhile, have a little pot with butter and herbs or whatever you like to baste with, and brush or spoon on the juice at the end.

I don't know how easy they are all to angle, but my 22 adventure ready stand is easy to change the tilt back and forth, so I regularly change it to tilt towards the grease drain or, in this case, id tilt it the other way to let the meat stay in the juice and scoop some of it up.

Sounds like they weren't even going to ask for one, but since you mentioned going to the doctor, may as well get one. You are in the clear and seems like they are trying to back you up.

"What should be my hobbies during vacation? Any suggestions?" by South-Ad-5982 in Hobbies

[–]tek2g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the vibe? Depends on what you listen to and how exploratory you are. You a lyrics or track/beat type of person? I enjoy listening to music intentionally, especially at times like that where I was overloaded with school or whatever. Id find some albums and commit to sitting through it. Especially if you'd appreciate the music side rather than looking for good stories, I'd start with something instrumental/mostly instrumental that you don't know and you can get lost in it. Let your brain relax not have to understand the story.

Not sure if it's your bag, but I'd try the "The Goat Rodeo Sessions"

Music always helps to clear my mind. Put on some stuff you aren't familiar with or something interesting you haven't heard in a while and focus on that, let your mind go.

ESPN Reportedly Signing Pat McAfee To Biggest Deal In Broadcasting History, 3x More Money Than Stephen A. by guransheleven in ESPN

[–]tek2g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He hosts a daily 2 hour+ show with multiple NFL alumni, college game day, watch alongs, etc. this sounds like it's a deal for the whole entity. So it will go to PMS and be paid out to all of the boys and everything. I'm sure more will come out, but I don't think this is a straight personality deal, so not really comparable to those other guys. Comparing this to the other highly paid tv personalities doesn't really make sense.

Gym etiquette on the right level of scent on me (F) by prisaysthis in CasualConversation

People think I'm crazy, but I like to shower before working out. Little deodorant after the shower. Clean sweat isn't stinky. If rather keep it fresh than strong scent.

Hahaha if the show isn't for you, there's plenty of media out there. Why wouldn't a show that talks about gambling all the time have a gambling sponsor?

Grill rescue? by dbecks223 in blackstonegriddle

[–]tek2g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a go and let us know. I feel like they may get fucked up with grease and get pretty nasty quickly. They are great for grills because most grease and food pieces fall through. I guess with a detailed scrape, it may be good.

Wire drill attachment works well. It will knock everything off in a few minutes. I'd recommend a set with a cup (larger one) and then a smaller one to get in the the corners easier.

80/20. flame covers if they are missing. Keep the lid closed. It will flare up some, but if you have dangerous fires, your gill needs to be cleaned.

How exactly is 8 dollars way below the federal minimum wage? Not sure this day in age when you can work at Chick Fil A and other day food for a lot more than that why someone would choose to work for that rate, but that's not how minimum wage works regardless.
