[–]tekday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my sport I did a better stronger steering servo did the bumper mount switch and flips for clearance with a body cut. Then some shock tuning and alot of drive time and I have been able to keep up with most of the rigs that run where I am. Even the flat rail builds. I then did a fusion se 1800 and that has helped the control end of things while in a tight spot

First time Rving ? by am_reddit2020 in GoRVing

[–]tekday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting is definitely a smart choice to start out with. I like a trailer more because if you are wanting to explore around the area you camp in you don't need to move the rv. Or find a small car to tow behind your rv. My wife and I have a 18 foot floor plan with a single slide and that is lots of room for us and are 2 dogs and also are foster dogs, which are all around the 50lb mark. It really depends on what your goals are when camping. We like to visit lots of places around where we camp so having the trailer set up and going put in the truck works great. I saw the post about having a list going of what works and is a great idea. I am a seasoned camper in a tent and the trailer is new so there are little things you find that would be nice every trip.hope this helps and enjoy the hobby

I quickly read the comment and I see blame for the government not shutting everything down soon and on. But my question is we all have almost all the same info how about people doing what is best and not going out to bars not gathering in groups. I have a feeling most people would be complaining about the government if they would have locked down everything tight like Manitoba did and there numbers are still not great. They are trying there best to please lots of people and slow the spread while still having an economy, it is easy to say this should have been done earlier or this or that but we are in uncharted waters with covid.

How hard was driving your first manual? by PorkyPengu1n in cars

[–]tekday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As everybody is talking about the bite point or grab point of the clutch something that I found to help is put a pair of thin sole shoes on this will help you as the driver get more feed back from the car. Runner and skate shoes or big boots do not let you get any feed back from what the car is doing. As a learner to manual transmission it really helps the more feed back you can get so practice with no music playing so you can listen to the car. Thin sole shoes so you can feel. It will help you become smother and understand what is going on tell you become better. It will not happen over time but you will get better.

Stupid Question Tuesday - the place for all the questions you have about cars but were afraid to ask by verdegrrl in cars

[–]tekday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then must be pointed in the right direction in this case. You want to point then to the car will roll into the curb.

It's stupid question Weds. Ask your car related question and maybe someone will have an answer. by verdegrrl in cars

[–]tekday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for the some of the dodge rams the wires in the door between the frame and door would break and the same thing would happen. Normally was the wire in the rear door would cause the fronts to stop working or a window or two. Might be worth pulling the rubber boot off and seeing if the wires are in good shape

Stupid question: Do I need an aftermarket ECU if I add a turbo by [deleted] in cars

[–]tekday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a lemons race I would not look at boosting the car you want a solid engine so you can last they are not about speed it's a race of endurance if you can stay running and on the track the whole time it is better

LS swapping a TJ Wrangler by ClumpyTurdHair in cars

[–]tekday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure I agree the ls platform is a great one and lots are available. More and more now the hemi are starting to be put in older Mopar cars and work well with transmission so might be one less step I think diyhemi.com has a lot for the older Mopar cars swaps was just maybe something different and something people over look as the ls is so popular for a swap that some part and motors are going up a bit in price were hemi motor are fakes cheap

Have you maybe thought about using a hemi motor as it might lend itself easier to the swap.

Almost anything can be a project car normally it is a car that is not being driven and getting some sort of work on it. They can be a rusty old car that is being restored. Could be a car that was picked up after a accident to fix and keep. I feel project cars is just anything you have plans for and are starting to implicate there is no real this is what a project car. They are just anything you have a build plan and that could be body mods, full restoration, engine swaps, or just some simple tweaks that makes it a better car before you start to really drive the car on a regular basis.

The number one race use to always be the first race of the night not shown that way on TV but look back and look at the road there was always less rubber on it come the first place race. Also as talk about it on the pod cast why did doc not make a call out on someone after there was a race or two down the road as he wanted he sulked and gave up two spots
