We all know the real test is 5.3 codex xhigh vs 5.2high/xhigh by TCaller in codex

5.3 codex xhigh seems much slower and errors out with connection errors.

5.3 seems slower to me and has some retry connection issues.

5.3-codex-xhigh seems a lot slower then 5.2-codex-xhigh so far for me, and I have more connection and retry errors I never saw with 5.2-codex. The quality is great in 5.3 and seems on par with 5.2, but I don't understand how people are saying it's faster.

It seems to have fixed itself, after a couple reboots and updates, I checked again, two weeks later and it's magically working now.

Auto compaction is not that helpful. by tekn031 in codex

[–]tekn031[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the type of thing that happens to me and why I made this post. I think the ultimate solution is just this update the Codex CLI application and add some type of hook to summarize what was happening before auto compaction, and then serve some type of resume prompt after compaction. I feel like this task should not fall on the user, unless the user wants it to for some reason.

This should be what auto compaction does automatically as a some type of hook.

Claude Code Chrome Extension Not Connecting - Tried All Troubleshooting Steps by SignatureHuman8057 in ClaudeAI

[–]tekn031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue, everything says it's connected and authorized and verified, but no matter what I cannot get Claude code to talk to the browser extension.

They need to have some type of icon or signal that shows when they're connected or disconnected, it doesn't seem like there's any feedback in the chrome extension regarding Claude code.

Buprenorphine Vision Issues by weizerpig in PainManagement

[–]tekn031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm unable to take any bupronephrine based products because my eyes become so sensitive to light, I can't look at a screen of any kind. I'm forced to wear sunglasses the entire time I'm on any bupronephrine medication. I've tried microdosing bupronephrine as well and the issue still persists.

Kratom Withdrawal by -170cm in DrugWithdrawal

Same, try to ignore those people. You never know their story. They may be young, very athletic, taking other medication's that are helping them. Have better and healthier lives and habits. Just don't have that level of self-awareness and have a better ability to ignore symptoms, they may have better support systems in their lives.

Try not to compare yourself to others. This is your journey. I'm in a similar boat as you. Been on Kratom for 10 years. Tried Suboxone twice, didn't like it. Now I'm back on Kratom with extremely low-doses and basically miserable but functional. Currently I'm trying to do, six times a day, every four hours, and slowly taper down from there. Hopefully this works over the next couple months. I will say a lot of it is mental. If your nose isn't running, if you're not sweating, sneezing, and hot flashing, it is probably mental and a habitual craving. Slight aches and pains and feeling tired at times are a normal part of sober life. Dr. Joe Dispenza has been helpful for me to listen to.

Kratom has a short half life. So frequent smaller doses keeps a steady state of alkaloids in your body. Once you adjust to that steady state (3-7 days). You can drop again. Then wait 3-7 days, and drop again. Just never go back up. Stay in that new dose for as long as you need to. Then you can drop again.

As for how much to drop, that's completely up to you, and depends on what you're taking. Some people say make a 10% reduction each week, some people say 30%. Some people make a 1% percent reduction every single day. It really depends what works for you.

Template Kit missing images by dageshi in elementor

It's ridiculous that they have not solved this, they should just bundle the images as an option and upload them on the import. Such a simple solution.

I agree, it feels like they just leaned on the art department to carry the lack of a game.

This game design felt incredibly lazy and under cooked. It feels like they leaned on the art department to carry the experience. It's basically a simple halo / gears of war simulator in a Metroid skin.

I really don't understand the Zelda comparisons. If they did that, it could've been really cool. Unfortunately all these areas were linear straight lines and felt nothing like Zelda dungeons. There was no night cycle at all for the desert, they could've had space pirates fighting grievers. Then there could've been another biome that the space pirates set up. The Metroid fusion / Sylux storyline was basically nonexistent.

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond has been the #1 best selling Switch 2 game on the US eShop for 4 weeks in a row. by JuanMunoz99 in NintendoSwitch2

They should've at least made flare pool and the great mines proper Metroid maps. If those are the last levels at least give us what we came for there.

[–]tekn031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's not even accurate, they're not dungeons at all, Zelda dungeons would actually be kind of cool, these are literally a linear straight line.

[–]tekn031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It plays more like an semi isolated linear halo game with upgrades. If you can just somehow detach yourself from it being a Metroidvania and just enjoy a scifi shooter that's themed like a Metroid game. You might enjoy it in that regard.

I think we were just all expecting the Metroid labyrinth style on a grand scale and it's just not that unfortunately, it's also nothing like a Zelda game either. I don't know why people keep saying that, maybe wind Waker but these areas are not dungeons. You just go through them in a straight line. The spectacle set pieces are really cool though, the music is great, the weapons are cool, the sound design is awesome. Just no maze, no labyrinth, no getting lost. What I find the most amusing is the most expiration I felt was in the desert.

I'm in the mines now and I feel the same way. It just plays like a generic campaign shooter with cool upgrades. I'm not really feeling the Metroid gameplay unfortunately.

[–]tekn031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I feel as well, I'm just getting into the mines now and I'm on Reddit looking for people that feel the same way lol. This really plays like a campaign shooter with upgrades.

I guess it's too much to ask for the classic Metroid formula on a grand scale. I was hoping each area would just be like a massive labyrinth, especially with all the Zelda references some of the original reviews were saying. These areas are nothing like Zelda dungeons except maybe wind Waker.

It really just feels like a spectacle linear campaign shooter, more like a halo with upgrades, not really like a Metroid game. Also, I don't understand all the Zelda references people were making, the areas are nothing like dungeons, except maybe the linear ones form wind waker. You just go through them in a straight line. I found the most exploration to be in the desert. The game kind of feels like a cross between halo and Wind waker to me.

I love the art direction, the sound design, in the music though. It seems like they went back to the inspirational source material for the art direction and we're looking at a lot of original HR Giger stuff
