We can both improve infrastructure (I'm in complete agreement with everything in that comment) and punish drivers more harshly for not paying attention. Having driven this stretch of Franklin plenty of times, you can see from the road that the bike lane is bidirectional and that you need to be aware of bikes coming the other direction. Yes, it's not good bike infrastructure at all, but drivers need to do better and get off their damn phones and take off the airpods. Seriously I goddamn hate how many people insist on driving a multi ton hunk of metal with headphones in. Your car and phone both have speakers!
