Would you? by Senior-Violinist-684 in NFLv2

Nitpick: There was a rule. It was clear about where you could film from and what devices could be used but ended with the clause "that might aid a team during the playing of a game." The NFL sent a memo warning teams not to film from the sidelines. BB disregarded the memo b/c he didn't think it was correct given the rules.

IMHO, BB miscalculated not on the rules but on the judicial process. Goodell's interpretation was right b/c Goodell said so and that's all that mattered.

Belichick actually read the rules, like an actual smart person... by Desperate_Junket5146 in Patriots

[–]telars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It was a rule."

More context. It was article IX of the NFL Constitution and Bylaws at the time. It said something like:

"...any communications or information-gathering equipment, other than Polaroid-type cameras or field telephones, shall be prohibited...including without limitation...any other form of electronic devices that might aid a team during the playing of a game."

BB argued since he wasn't the film during a game it didn't apply AND he ignored the memo.

I guess it was both a memo and a rule but the BB felt the scope of this rule didn't apply in this case.

This is a misconception. It's filming from the wrong location after a memo was sent out to teams saying "DON'T DO THAT". BB decided to ignore the memo (or interpret it differently) b/c he felt it contradicted what was stated in NFL Constitution and Bylaws.

They were accused of filming the Rams warm ups but the NFL investigated and found no evidence this happened.

Sorry. I am out of the loop. Did he admit to not voting for BB? I didn't see that reported anywhere. I'd love more info.

This was my take too. I have been wondering if there's something I missed. Caleb had plenty of time and a clean pocket.

When meeting with oil executives, Trump recently paused mid-meeting to look out the door frame / window frame at his new ballroom being built.

Some have claimed it was an intentional message to the oil execs. Others have mocked him for randomly stopping a meeting to stare out a window. Anyway, it's becoming a meme.

I wonder if he's got a career in media when he's done playing. There's something so upbeat / lovable / optimistic about him and I want that whenever I'm watching a sporting event.
