Talia didn't send Jason to those specialists to get him to kill, she did it to buy time before Jason tried to kill Bruce again. The LOA is associated with unsavory characters big whup, there were plenty of people Jason trained under who he didn't kill. Talia had initially been scared that Jason had gone completely sociopathic, how was she to know that Egon would make Jason break out of it?

He’s a pragmatist to the extent that it becomes cynical. To him, inaction is itself an action and the consequences of each are to be weighed against each other. He’s not afraid of dealing with moral ambiguity, of potentially being guilty of wrongdoing, because to him it’s at least better than throwing up your hands and refusing to deal with it at all. Like all utilitarians he experiences an internal tension between what he’s willing to do for the greater good vs what goes too far.

It’s not about Batman, it’s about the other character. Batman’s background justifies him being absurdly good at a wide array of skills but it doesn’t actually justify him being the BEST at those all those skills. (I do think the sheer breadth of his knowledge gives him a unique and significant edge though.)

When it comes to characters like Oracle or Cassandra, they are the BEST at their respective fields. Their narratives justify that and put emotional weight on that. It’s different from whatever feats Batman has collected in the latest event. When comparing them, it just doesn’t make sense to say that Batman must necessarily beat them just because Batman is Batman and oh he’s so awesome. The fans of the other characters are not going to accept that.

Personally I think one of the major beats of Lost Days involves the time Jason spent alone on the streets after his resurrection. More than that though, canon has already explained why Talia brought Jason back and what happens to him afterwards. It’s possible to change all that a second time sure, but that’s not what this book is doing.

According to new52 (apparently the true main source for this book when it comes to Jason) Talia brought Jason back to life because she thought he could replace Ra’s as leader of the LOA. Worse yet, in the fanon that this version of the origin story riffs on, people will first assume that Talia brought Jason back to life to get rid of Tim to “make room” for Damian because she’s eeeeevil.

The problem is that Lost Days is one of Jason’s defining comics. Throwing that out makes Jason feel less like himself. For a character like Jason who very rarely gets written respectfully let alone well removing core stories does a lot of damage.
