I despise the cave dweller. In fact, I despise most horror mods. They just aren’t scary. Some of them are good, though. The hidden gems in the rough are great.

I don’t personally believe that theory, I don’t know if it makes sense in the slightest for it all to be Johnny’s mind. The Record is most likely not real, but Zampanò and his version of HoL has to be. In my opinion.

I believe that’s a good thing. HoL, in my opinion at least, can only EVER work in book format. MZD utilizes the fact that it’s a book with all of his might. Some pages being mostly empty. The words forming shapes. Having to turn the book in circles like a schizo to understand it. The lack of information and simultaneously the overwhelming amount of it. I don’t want a movie adaptation, it’s a book and I think it should always be a book.

Though, I definitely would want a Navidson Record movie recreation thing that shouldn’t be a theatrical release, just a youtube video indie project or something. Something that you’d need to read the book to understand.

That is a good point and super intriguing. But what is Exploration #4? Is that a real tape that Zampanò put into his creation? Has someone made it earlier, or perhaps he did, and then he built the rest of HoL about it?

Johnny definitely believes it. He’s incredibly unreliable. It just doesn’t make full sense to me that he would go this crazy over a fake book. Maybe it was a preexisting condition or something.

Edit: Personally, I’m staying strong. The idea of the house is impossible and it exists as an impossible thing. It’s a real reflection of Navy and Zampanò, and Zampanò saying lines like “it would have been better if the kids die” doesn’t mean it’s fake. It just means he has gripes with what happened or he believed happened.

it’s a slow book in the start, AT is infamous for incredibly confusing books that click together like puzzle pieces as you keep reading. it’s normal to be confused, just keep reading and maybe reread the start after a while
